The Rhône-Alpes region
The chalet at 1000m ASL is located in the Heart of the French Alps, with beautiful mountain views facing the 3 Vallees. Effectively on the back of La Plagne (Mont Jovet), the chalet is directly opposite the Courchevel/3 Vallees ski resort of La Tania, and is above Brides les Bains, and has easy access to the worlds largest linked ski domain... the Three Vallees (600km), and the worlds third largest linked ski domain...Paradiski (425km), together offering over 1000km of pisted skiing within just a short 15-20 minute drive from the chalet.
The region provides access to ski slopes for all ages and abilities, and for non skiers/boarders, dog sledding and snow shoeing.
Out of the ski season the local mountains and valleys provide access to all the popular alpine activities including paragliding, mountain biking, road cycling, white water rafting and kayaking, golf, walking, quad biking and skydiving.
In the valley, Bozel has many sporting facilities, including tennis courts, running tracks, football pitches, badminton courts, a summer swimming lake, and paraglider landing field.
Bozel, just 6 minutes drive from the chalet, has a number of excellent restaurants, bars, bakers/butchers/convenience stores, ski hire outlets, banks, pharmacy, doctors, vets, ironmongers, souvenir shops, clothes stores, garages, etc, everything you should need during your holiday. Large supermakets are located in Moutiers just 15 mins drive from the chalet.
Les 3 Vallées comprise the 8 ski resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires - Saint Martin, Val Thorens and Orelle: and is the largest linked ski area in the world, linked together by ski runs and ski lifts, with 600 kms of interconnected slopes and 180 ski lifts. The area has 318 marked alpine ski runs: (51 green (beginner), 127 blue, 111 red and 29 black).
Paradiski is a ski-domain in the stunning Tarentaise Valley offering uninterrupted skiing in between the areas of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne. The area is linked by the Vanoise Express. In total over the three resorts there are 160 lifts and 425 km of pistes, with 152 green/blue (beginner) runs, 79 red (intermediate) runs and 22 black (expert) runs.
Champagny le Haut - high valley covered in snow, offering cross country skiing and dog sledding.
Pralognan en Vanois - very small ski resort at the very end of the valley.
La Rosiere accessible (by car -60 mins drive)
Tignes & Val D'Isere accessible (by car-80 mins drive)
My Favourite Ski Area - without question Champagny/La Plagne (best value, best skiing, best slopes (blue heaven), and second favourite - Courchevel, which is especially suitable for absolute beginners, with slopes to suit all abilities from absolute beginners to black run addicts.
Guests staying at Chez Helene are not tied to any individual ski resort, and have easy access to all of them, being La Plagne, Champagny, Les Arcs (Paradiski) and Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens, Orelle (3 Vallees) and guests have even skied in Val D'Isere/Tignes (Espace Killy - 80 mins drive) during their stay at Chez Helene.

Great chalet and David the chalet owner is a great host who made our stay very enjoyable. One thing that is great about David and his chalet is the positioning, you are right in the middle of multiple resorts so one day you can ski Meribel or Val Thorens and the next you can ski La Plagne or Courchevel and David was on hand to drop us to the piste and pick us up at the end of the day so no long walks or bus rides with all your gear.

"Beautiful, cosy chalet with incredible views"
I stayed in Chez Helene with family on a skiing holiday and can not recommend it highly enough! The chalet is warm and inviting and was well equipped with everything that we needed. Our host David was so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The area is beautiful with some breath taking scenery - an added bonus is that the location is away from the noise of the main ski resorts but it's just a short drive to get there. There is so much to do in the area and David is a fantastic guide who can recommend something to suit everyone. We went for skiing and were not disappointed by the selection of nearby ski resorts. I will definitely be booking again - a gem in the Alps not to be missed!!
Thank for so much for your lovely review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay here. True to your word you have already booked to return, and I am very much looking forward to seeing you here again this coming March.

"Lovely location, well equipt chalet, great host"
We came in a a big group and had a great week at the chalet. Skiing, cooking, eating relaxing, drinking etc. David is a great host and skiing companion. It's close to ski resorts by car and there is also a lovely Spa a short drive away. The chalet is clean, homely and warm and the beds are very comfy. The living space was a little cramped with our very large group (11-12 I think) but we made it work. When we went the hot water was limited to a tank so we had to take turns and have shorter showers but it wasn't a big problem, David may have upgraded this by now. Overall a lovely home from home to enjoy the Alps!
Thank you. Really hope to see you, and your close friends out here again soon to share in the amazing fun skiing, and Apres Ski dancing on the tables. One of the best fun and enjoyable groups I have ever hosted. You are always welcome. David

"Stunning views with easy access to the best skiing and an English host"
We visited this chalet in the summer as we were passing through to assess a return for skiing later in the year. It really is a beautiful spot nestling in the foot hills of he main skiing areas of the French alps. David, our host, was charming and nothing was too much trouble. For a Brit he has the distinct advantage of being English and can help with ski passes to restaurant bookings without a problem. The facilities in the chalet are very clean and serviceable.
Thank you very much for your lovely review, and I must stay I very much enjoyed the time we spent together. I hope to see you here again in the near future, perhaps next time to experience the summer mountain biking and white water rafting.
