Chalet Le Challenge
Perfect holiday and location

I don’t even know where to start . The place is just perfect . Host : Arrived and Eric was there to meet and greet . He was lovely and was more than happy to show us how everything worked and explain the local area. Also on check out day he was quick and efficient to get us on our way to the airport. His knowledge of the local area is brilliant and im sure he will take the time to answer any questions you have . Location: The Location in my opinion couldn't be any better . The place is situated at the end of the road for the ski resort . Here are four reasons I believe it a magnificent location. Firstly, you can walk 100m and put your skis on and ski down to a lift around 400m from the house , so your not carrying skis or snow boards miles to get going . Secondly, ski resorts can get a little crazy , especially at night time , Eric really has placed this chalet in the perfect location. It's a easy walk to get to the clubs and pubs , just one straight road and a 10 minute walk.... maybe even less if you don't drink to much .... along side this , it's the perfect place to escape all the madness and the parties and really relax . Not one night was I disturbed and you can not hear Any noise from the strip . Thirdly, food and shops . The chalet has a shop within a 200m walk its a little super market , which supplies everything . So it's easy to buy supplies for the house and carry things back . If your looking to go out for a meal , there is also a number of restaurants starting with in a 300m walk and all along the strip . Lastly, It is so easy to find. It is literally the first chalet on the right as you get to the top of the hill in les deux alps . Other impossible to miss as it's unique to all the other buildings around it . The chalet . Finally and most importantly the place . Eric's place is insane. Its beautiful and bright . He designed and built it him self and I have to say he has done it perfectly . Its a upside down house which has a ground floor, a first floor and also a small loft . Ground floor : *has a large ski and snow board room yo store your kit and equipment. * a open front with a boot and glove drying racks which made the holiday so easy , including a drying room . * a wash and dry room . * 1x double bedroom with on suite * 2x twin rooms with on suite * 1× 4 man room with external bathroom directly opposite in the corridor. * 2x toilet rooms * 1x shower room * 1x hot tub and sauna room . The hot tub is incredible and easily sits 6 fully grown men the sauna is also large and we sat 4 or 5 per time in it . * 1 x gym , which I thought was the perfect touch a small gym but with enough to exercise . First floor . First floor is a very large open plan room with a glass front, its bright and natural and beautiful. There is a very large seating area and a very Morden kitchen dinning area . With a large table that sits 14 . In our group there was 11 men all of which very large men and house accommodated all of us easily . Eric has kitted the house up with everything so the kitchen has everything you an think of . There is also another toilet and then a second double bedroom with a loft which sleeps 2x people . This room is perfect for people with children or teen agers as the loft has direct access to the double bedroom . Which is also equipped with a on suite . The house is also shrouded by a large balcony . I could keep going on about this place , you literally have to see it for your self , for out party of 11 we couldn't been happier , with the host , the cleanliness , location and chalet were perfect . Alpine cycling trip

The chalet Oz was our base for a weeks alpine road cycling. We found chalet Oz to be a nice comfortable chalet with spectacularly beautiful mountain views. We benefitted from some excellent weather that topped off a really enjoyable week cycling. The chalet sleeps 8, so the 6 of us had enough space to spread out and the chalet is equipped with all of the essentials to make for a relaxing stay. It may be snug if you overload the kit you take, but we managed with ours. There are plenty of sofas, chairs and a large dining table to allow you to unwind after your alpine adventures. Mobile phone connections are good and there is access to complimentary WiFi which allows you to post and review the all important Strava data as well as using FaceTime to keep in touch at home. As the chalet overlooks the mountains and the underlying forest you will not tire of the views you have - it is stunning. From the chalet you can ride to your heart's content the famous Cols of Alpe d'Huez, Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix-de-Fer.....etc. The Cols slightly further afield, Col du Lautaret, Col du Galibier, are doable but make sure you keep a little something in the tank as the Col d'Oz on which the chalet sits is a hefty climb in itself to end the day on having ridden up some of the HC climbs earlier in the day!! There is however always the option of driving down the mountain and parking up in Allemond or Bourg-d’Oisans to start your ride out from, saving you one final climb, though it does deprive you of an awesome morning decent?! In summary a beautiful part of the world to base your stay whatever your sporting/recreational preferences are and a good standard of accommodation that shouldn’t disappoint. … see more
