Description

Cottage description :

« La Taupinière » - in English "The Molehill" - is designed to welcome 4 people (+ 1 young child - mattress or baby bed available on request).

A very particular care was taken in the realization of the country cottage, its decoration and the choice of materials and the equipment used. Primarily equipped with wood, it has a large room (open on the terrace) which houses the livingroom with lunch-corner, a well furnished international library, the “American” kitchen luxuriously furnished and fully equipped, and the bathroom with a corner bath-tub and wash-hand basin, a small laundry, separate toilets. The bedroom is situated on the mezzanine, with a 140 cm wide bed, a flat screen with DVD player and a hundred films any kind , and very large wall cupboards.

The second room is designed in the shape of a pretty Eastern house made of wood, is a free-standing structure, and is located just opposite

The second room is designed in the shape of a pretty Eastern house made of wood, is a free-standing structure, and is located just opposite the terrace of the cottage. This house does not have any other equipment than twin beds, heater, ceiling fan, shelves and a mini stereo. Its occupants will benefit from the equipment of the Molehill.

The 12m2 terrace of the main cottage, made of wood, is equipped with a table and 4 chairs in acacia, as well as a barbecue, is illuminated at night, and is overlooking the beautiful one hectare garden and its vast pond, abounding with lotus, water lilies, frogs, water hens and other dragonflies…

By good weather, and if the atmosphere is very clear, perhaps will you have the pleasant surprise to discover in the backdrop the very majestic Pyrenees with their snow-covered tops…  .

Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

Gastronomy :
Our zone is part of the area “Gascogne”, famous for its gastronomy, and in particular for the foie gras, the duck breast, the wine of Madiran and the excellent Armagnac, one of the finest alcohols whose reputation is well known by the connoisseurs.

Cultural heritage :
The department of the Gers offers a very large range of cultural activities : visiting museums, typical villages, castelnaux (medieval villages), abbeys, the "Sainte-Marie" Cathedral in Auch, d'Artagnan's museum in Lupiac (native village of Alexandre Dumas's famous hero), and many other curiosities as the Tower of Termes d'Armagnac, the Gallo-Roman Villa in Séviac, the Donjon of Bassoues, the Strengthened Village of Larressingle, the "Bastide de Fourcès", the Cistercian Abbey of Flaran ... The Gers is also called "The Country of the Thousand Castles".

Festivals :
Each year, the Gers shelters a lot of more and more famous merry festivals :
"BANDAS", walking brass bands, in Condom (early May)
"PENTECOTE" in Vic-Fezensac (with bullfights, weekend of Pentecost)
"ECLATS de VOIX", voices festival in Auch (mid-June)
"COUNTRY MUSIC" in Mirande (mid-July)
"TEMPO LATINO" in Vic-Fezensac (end of July)
"JIM" – JAZZ in MARCIAC (two first weeks of August)
"CIRCA", circus festival in Auch (November)

Moncorneil-Grazan

Located at a stone's throw from the first buttresses of the Pyrenees mountain chain, at the crossing roads leading to Auch, Toulouse and Lannemezan, the small village of Moncorneil-Grazan is shared between the valley of the Arrats river and the green slopes of Haut-Astarac.
It is at middle height of one of these slopes that you will find the Cassaet  locality, an old farm from 1740, made from raw earth and half-timberings, whose restoration, in the respect of the traditional techniques, was ultimately completed in 2010 with the installation of the Molehill cottage. The cottage, accessed independently from the house, opens at the back of the house, on the first floor, with a broad terrace made of wood and overlooking the beautiful one hectare garden and its vast pond abounding with lotus, water lilies, frogs, water hens  and other dragonflies…
By good weather, and if the atmosphere is very clear, perhaps will you have the pleasant surprise to discover in the backdrop the very majestic Pyrenees with their snow-covered tops…
