Location description from owner

The Midi-Pyrénées region

The region stretches from the Pyrennes in the south to the Massif Central in the north of the region. So it is one of the largest regions in France.

Millau is situated in the northern half of the region, more towards the Central Massif but still only about 150k from the Mediterrean coast.

The A75 motorway goes north to south on it's way to Montpellier, and the Languedoc Roussillon region.

Millau

Millau is located at the convergence of the rivers Tarn and Dourbie.

These rivers flow from the Cévennes which is a large National Park and a great place to visit with its plateau scenery, gorges and pictoresque villages.

The Tarn flows under the Millau viaduct, which was designed by Sir Norman Foster and is truly spectacular, being the tallest road bridge in Europe.

The A75 motorway passes over the Millau viaduct, making it assessable by motorway.

Within a few miles of Millau are Templier villages with their historic significance.

Roquefort is famous for its cheese and is only a few kilometers from Millau.

There is a lot of outdoor sport to be enjoyed in the area from kayaking to parapente. Waliking and cycling are keenly pursued.

“An Excellent location tho explore the Tarn, Jonte and Dourbie Gorges.”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

The apartment is in excellent condition and is perfectly arranged with a kitchen, diner sitting room, all in one. It is located in a secluded part of Millau and we certainly didn't feel we were in a large town at all. Millau centre is in very easy walking distance. The owners were on hand to make our stay a very enjoyable one. This is in a superb location to explore the Tarn, Jonte and Dourbies Gorges, as well as the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay here. Thank you Martin and Shelly.
