From the owner

This attractive first-floor apartment - in a UNESCO World Heritage area, Presqu'île - is situated between the Rhône and the Saône. The city's major historical sites, the best restaurants and most distinctive shops are all within easy walking reach.

The apartment has many historic features - hardwood floors, an open fireplace and exposed wooden doors and shutters.

My recommendations to restaurants, shops and services in Lyon are included in a dossier in the apartment to make your stay in Lyon as enjoyable and authentically French as possible. In the general area, there are excellent restaurants and shops including traditional butchers, bakers, fishmongers and greengrocers. The Opéra de Lyon, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the ancient city are all within a few minutes' walk. The Saône is two minutes away and there are attractive walks along the banks. A daily food market is held by the river with second-hand books at the week-end

Buses, the Metro and a city bike (Vélo'V) rental station are all close-by

I live in a separate apartment in the same building and can provide help and advice if this is needed. For early arrival and late departure, guests may store their luggage in my apartment by arrangement

Kitchen with ceramic hob, convection oven, extractor hood, dishwasher, microwave oven, refrigerator / freezer, mandoline slicer, electric egg beater, hand-blender, kettle, toaster, filter coffee machine

Bathroom with bath, shower, hairdryer, washing machine/tumble dryer

The apartment is equipped with smoke detectors

A weekly clean of 1 hour is available by arrangement at a cost of €15

A tramway and taxis operate from the airport. From the train station - Part-Dieu - the C13 bus goes directly to the apartment (stop Hôtel de ville Louis Pradel). A taxi is relatively inexpensive

The apartment is situated on the 1st floor (American numbering - 2nd floor). A lift serves the 2nd and higher floors

Pets are not permitted

Common-sense regulations such as respecting the apartment itself and neighbours apply

The building is not suitable for loud parties

NB : The beautiful marble fireplace is purely decorative and is not suitable for fires

I have myself rented many furnished apartments and – through that experience - have arrived at what guarantees an enjoyable stay: a warm and friendly atmosphere; a large main room which gives a real feeling of space; a centrally situated apartment to enjoy the city without necessarily having to take public transport; a good bed; good Wi-Fi connection; and a thousand little details which make all the difference - large wardrobes for storage, a full-length mirror, a reading lamp near the couch, a desk separate from the table for meals, a well equipped kitchen (for lovers of cooking), quality crockery good enough to invite friends, blackout curtains in the bed room.

These are the criteria I have used in equipping this apartment. I live nearby and can be called upon to provide help and advice if this is needed.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Laurent (the owner) a message.

If Laurent (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
