Location description from owner

The Luberon region

To the south, the hills of the Luberon dominate the quiet course of the Durance. Dry stone walls browned by the sun, colored by ocher facades of natural Provençal Colorado, terraces, shaded squares and fountains, all calls to the good life.
In each village, artists and craftsmen compete for talent. On the hillsides and vineyards growcherry trees, and the plain is full of fruit, including the famous Cavaillon melon.

The path to Ochre quarries of Roussillon, and Provencal Colorado in Rustrel, allow you to discover the true geological curiosity: you can walk in the middle of the maze by following colored panels explaining the formation and operation of ocher quarries and cliffs of their"blood and gold." The Conservatory of ochres and pigments applied in Roussillon, welcomes the public in an old ocher factory for tours, workshops and educational workshops.

In addition to the castles of Provence, the Luberon is home to 5
"Most beautiful villages in France": Ansouis, Lourmarin, Ménerbes, Roussillon and Gordes, with its abbey of Sénanque and its bories.

Do not miss the “Chateau de Lourmarin”, the first Renaissance chateau in Provence, the “Château d'Ansouis” with its beautiful gardens or le “Château de la Tour d'Aigues”. Some house museums and collections or host festivals (Lourmarin, Gordes and Lacoste).
Plant and gardens lovers on the land area of Val Joanis will find enough to satisfy their passion.n Also discover the garden Roman Caumont sur Durance and Gerbaud farm in Lourmarin, specializing in aromatic plants.

The Riviera is located in the South of France, it covers the departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes, it is part of Provence.
The Riviera has several advantages that all promote tourism. First an exceptional climate, the sun is there many days of the year and the temperature is remarkably mild in winter. Then the simultaneous presence of the sea, the Mediterranean and mountains of Alps.
Indeed, the Riviera is surrounded by the Southern Alps with peaks reaching 3000meters. The Alps Niçoises overlook the Mediterranean. The Alpine foothills around the town of Grasse rise above 1700 meters. All offer views of landscapes and of exceptional quality with strong colors and cheerful.

Lourmarin

Lourmarin, a village of exceptional beauty and richness of a heritage that is clearly linked to human history and a strong architectural. Ranked as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Lourmarin is an ode to a Luberon which is constantly bathed in soft light. 'Lourmarin, the most charming village in the Luberon', Bosco wrote love the beauty of its landscape with smooth curves and bewitching. Camus does not remain insensitive to this small corner of the Mediterranean that also grow at a house to buy some time to settle. The religious history is not to discard: the Church of St. Andrew and St. Trophimus, with its splendid arches. Its curious baptismal font that recalls the presence of the manor who built the village and its castle, as well as its imposing bell tower, is the Protestant church of the nineteenth's clock and belfry to the definition of Lourmarin village of the three towers.

Men of Arts and Letters, Henri Bosco, Albert Camus, Jean Grenier, and many more were seduced by Lourmarin. It is a village where it is good to live

It is surrounded by vineyards, olive and almond trees that nestles the village of Lourmarin labeled "one of the most beautiful villages in France".
Busy summer with its many street cafes, restaurants and shops of Provence, Lourmarin is one of the leading villages of the Luberon.
Lourmarin has a castle of the fifteenth and sixteenth century, which is worth visiting for its curious staircases and beautifully furnished apartments (only the Renaissance castle is open to the public).
In the village you will be struck by the typical Mediterranean architecture of the site: narrow and winding streets, beautiful old houses with facades restored with materials of the country and still a little shady square where you can soak up the sweet atmosphere of the beautiful Provence.
The people like to point out that Albert Camus, Nobel Prize for Literature, lived and wrote here. He is also buried in the cemetery of the village. Needless to say, with a setting as enchanting as the one of Lourmarin, a beautiful castle to visit and pleasant outdoor cafes .... that the season is animated!
