Sorry about the unavailability of the Wi-Fi. In the South-West, the summer storms can be unpredictable and very vicious : they already have destroyed the whole computer/Wi-Fi/telephone system 3 times! If you have a lap top, Ipad, etc..., you will be welcome to use Patricia and Francis Wi-Fi.
Patricia and Francis are our neighbours (700 m from our home) and they will welcome you and will help you if necessary.
|Further details outdoors|
To secure the swimming pool and keep the temperature at a comfortable level, you will have to cover the pool following given details, when not in use and of course after the last swim. This will engage your responsibility.
A pool-man and gardener will appear every now and then for servicing the pool and mowing the lawn when necessary.
The Aquitaine region
Our home is 30 minutes from Libourne, in the Bordeaux vineyards area. 5 minutes by foot suffices to reach the nearest château and stock up!
"Premières Côtes de Blaye", "Côtes de Bourg" vineyards are only a few kms away. Drive to Blaye, take the ferry and you are in the Médoc! The Atlantic Coast and its famous beaches is then not far away.
Bordeaux, an English port from 1154 to 1453 is 1 H away. The city is considered the best example of C18th architecture in France. Now UNESCO World Inheritage.
Le Bassin d'Arcachon, la Dune du Pyla, le Cap Ferret are 1H 1/2 from us.
In 1 H 1/2 you can be in the heart of the Périgord and visit the Lascaux cave or enjoy "la cuisine traditionnelle du Sud-Ouest" in Périgueux or Sarlat.
St Emilion is 20 mn from Libourne.
Libourne is a C13th bastide situated at the confluent of the Isle and the Dordogne rivers. Founded by Richard de Leyburn, Libourne will charm you with its 3 times a week thriving market and architecture.
From Libourne, you might be tempted by l"Entre-Deux-Mers" and its famous wines and "bastides". But may be you'd prefer the Fronsac or the Pomerol wines...
On the road to the Dordogne, you'll cross Coutras which is worth a visit on a Saturday morning for its market.
