Our place is located at the heart of South Ardèche, near the famous "Gorges de l'Ardèche" and the "Chauvet Cave" (Grotte Chauvet) in a typical provencal town called "Joyeuse", which means "Happiness" ! At La Grande Mademoiselle, enjoy a wonderful and vast "hôtel particulier", that is a private mansion from the XVIIIth century, decorated with the spirit of a traditional and elegant provencal house from old times...

- 397 sq. meters in a great house, entirely yours during your stay, wether you are 2,4 or 10 guests

- 4 bedrooms for 2 people, large and comfortable, decorated with 18th century spirit, plus a sofa bed in the big lounge for 2 people

- 3 en suite bathrooms with large shower and bath

- 2 big terraces at each level of the house offering a wonderful view on vineyards, woods and city center of Joyeuse.

- Many nice French restaurants are also in 2 minutes walk range, groceries and bakery reachable on foot at 5 minutes.

From the city of Joyeuse, heart of South Ardeche, you'll be able to visit any part of it from the Ardèche canyon ("Gorges de l'Ardèche") to Natural Park of Ardeche Mountains of Cévennes, from typical provençal towns villages like Vogüé and Balazuc to the famous Caverne du Pont d'Arc.

HERITAGE: unique in Ardeche as regards its architecture and space, our private mansion, built on medieval foundations, hosts up to 10 people in a genuine and wonderful 18th century mood, with more than 15 rooms on 3 stairs.

BEST LOCATION: be at heart of southern Ardeche, close to the Cevennes mountains and its gorgeous hiking tracks, several rivers (Labeaume, Chassezac, Ardeche) where to swim with superb landscapes and canyons, "most beautiful villages of France" labeled villages (Balazuc and Vogüé), starred restaurants (Vals, Montfleury), the famous "Gorges de l'Ardèche" (Ardeche canyon) and, of course, the caves' region, and its jewel, the magnificent Chauvet Cave.

SPACIOUS: don't be packed like sardines! We provide you with 397 sq. m., i.e. 40 sq.m. per person if you are 10, and 65 sq.m. if you are 6! All stairs of the mansion are privatized for our hosts. Enjoy a very unique feature for this kind of mansion: two vast roof terraces, one at each level of the house, with a wonderful view on the historical city center. Best place to have "apéritif" at sunset before dinner!

CUISINE : we would like you to prepare your meals in the best conditions and cook the best food in the cuisine with everything needed to do so (all ustensils, description of easy and typical recipes of the area, information about the best vineyards around the mansion). Everything is set to allow you to have the most memorable meals in this house. The provençal market of Joyeuse is truly in a wide range the biggest and the best one: don't miss it each wednesday to buy the best meat, cheeses, delicatessen and provençal products. All groceries and bakery are reachable on foot in a 5 minutes range, which spares you the effort of taking your car.

CONCIERGE SERVICE: we believe one should not waste its time on holiday in riding kilometers and spoiling precious minutes to reach - too late - the gloomy supermarket & spend there an hour that could be dedicated to something more interesting... Therefore, by us, you will benefit from a free of charge concierge service to get your food at the supermarket according to your list, of course : you only pay the bill of the supermarket, not the service itself, included in your rental. This service is available even before your arrival so you can check in and as soon cook whatever you've ordered, without starving in the city the first evening of your arrival, looking for a spare seat in crowded restaurants... Live it up!

HYGIENE: we take very seriously your concerns for safety during the pandemia. Rooms are ventilated during the cleaning, door handles are properly disinfected and we provide you with a new cleaning set per host. If you have any specific request before booking, do get in touch with us.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Charles (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
