There are enough beds for 6 adults with 2 separate bedrooms as well as 2 single bed alcove beds with quality mattresses and duvets. There is a washing machine on the lower garden level and drying racks for use in the sunny courtyard

THE MAIN FLOOR: as you enter the street-level floor, you will find a bright and sunny open plan living room, dining room and kitchen layout. A ‘rescued’ oak table expands to easily seat 6, the windows open over the enclosed rear garden, for your private use. Comfy sofa and chairs, FREE wifi and Cd player are there for you to use.

There is an updated powder room with its own hand basin on this floor as well.

THE KITCHEN: With exposed wooden beams, Chestnut floor and a boutique size, the kitchen is nonetheless very well equipped: 4 burner gas stove, electric oven, full size fridge and freezer, microwave, coffeemaker and lots and lots of utensils, pots ’n pans and dining service!

UPPER FLOOR: The main bedroom shows off the original stone walls, has a beautifully renovated double bed and its own skylight to let in the morning sunshine. Furnished with a chest of drawers, a wardrobe, seating and bedside tables.

Across the hall on this floor is a spacious bath-tub bathroom and toilet with a hand-hold shower.

Also on this level is a single bed tucked into an alcove on the landing, with its own skylight.

LOWER, GARDEN FLOOR: Gorgeous fireplace bedroom with 2 single beds that can be joined to make a double. French door open onto the dual patio courtyard to catch the sun or shade!

A full-size shower, hand basin and washing machine are in the bathroom on this level.

Tucked into an alcove across from the bathroom is another antique single sleigh bed

OUTSIDE: A lovely private walled garden with 2 separate patios to chase the sun!

The exterior shed holds the tables and garden furniture for the garden, 4 bicycles to go exploring and a BBQ for an indulgent evening!

WELCOME PACK: All our many visitors over the last 8 years have been welcomed with a starter kit of household necessities: cleaners, paper products, bathroom soaps etc. In addition, we provide a Welcome Basket of cheese and wine, baguette and tea and coffee…especially appreciated by those guests arriving later in the evening, when they can access the cottage with the keys in the lock box…by prior arrangement with our housekeeper.

Location description from owner

The Brittany region

Southern Brittany enjoys a micro-climate all of its own and is warmer and drier that the N of the region. Guemene sur Scorff lies in the heart of the Pays du Roi Morvan, and is named after the medieval dukes who dominated Brittany in the 15th century. A part of their original fortress, built in 1520 can be seen right in the heart of the town! Some would say that Brittany is the seafood capital of Europe with nearly 1000 kilometres of coastline and a multitude of fishing ports to harvest the local specialty. Breton gastronomy rests heavily on freshly harvested clams, mussels, scallops, lobster particularly from the north coast of the region, oysters from the east coast are famous, winkles, crab and prawns as well as a wide variety of fresh local fish. Some of the least crowded and most enjoyable golf in Europe is to be had on the many and varied courses across Brittany. With elegant clubhouses and comparatively empty courses, its a golfers idea of heaven! The department of Morbihan has its fair share, with 7 courses on the south western side.

A part of their original fortress, built in 1520 can be seen right in the heart of the town!Brittanys Celtic roots go back 1000 years. Through July and August the biggest Inter-Celtic Festival in the world takes place in Lorient. The markets of Brittany have managed to retain their charm, authenticity and seasonal produce despite a growing foreign ownership of Breton property. The fierce independence of the farming community produces a very high quality and range of products. You can find a market every day of the week where you can enjoy the sights and indulge in smells of the best local Breton oysters, fish, cheeses, crepes, cider, honey, and locally grown fruit and vegetables, not to mention local sausages, pates and freshwater fish. Most towns have their own weekly market day, usually open all year round and the joy of eating to-the-season could never be more inviting.
Brittany is truly a cyclists paradise. Some of the Brittany islands are havens for cyclists because cars are banned from the islands.Brittanys greatest beaches are along the Southern Morbihan coast. There is a huge choice of white, sandy beaches, where you can enjoy swimming, sand yachting, waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, kite-surfing, sailing or body surfing. The Golfe of Morbihan is a boaters paradise with hundreds of bays to explore...all about 25 minutes from the cottage.
