Cà Mì is your ideal holiday home if you want to experience the Salento territory by living the true rythm of a small town of Southern Italy while enjoying your stay in a truly special place, where the original stones and finishings meet a more contemporary interior design. The owners found in Salento the ideal Mediterranean location for their holiday house. After a door-to-door hunt in the historic centre of Galatone they opened the door of this unique house of 60 sqm with 80 sqm of terraces on three levels, and made it their own in 2008. With 9 months of patient remodeling with local contractors and craftsmen, this house now features exquisite antique and handmade furniture and finishings. The well, the niches, the fireplace, the amazing stone vaulted ceiling of the living area were brought back to life in a more contemporary interior design. The huge master bedroom was rearranged to sleep comfortably 4 people with a newly designed mezzanine, and to create a large bathroom with double sinks and a floor-to-ceiling tiled shower room. The house has fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning/heating, TV with satellite receiver and DVD, plus a fabulous open-air shower on the upper terrace to end up your summer day in the best possible way. Sip your “aperitivo” in the front terrace while listening to the locals chatting from the adjacent trattoria. Take a walk and awe at the beautiful architecture of the historical neighbourhood. Take the car to explore olive groves, ruins, beautifully preserved villages, beaches and to discover the simply great food this land has to offer. Make your own Best of Salento!

The Puglia region
This part of the Apulia region is known as Salento. Salento is one of the most beautiful but still undiscovered gems of Southern Italy. Here you can really find everything that makes a great vacation: fantastic beaches, wonderful sea, excellent and affordable food, history and culture. Lecce is simply breathtaking, reason why it is nicknamed the Florence of the South. It is the capital of the "barocco" architecture. These are just a few of the cities and locations that are a must see: Gallipoli, Maglie, Galatina (the church of Santa Caterina D'Alessandria is a masterpiece), Otranto, Tricase, Santa Maria di Leuca (Finibus Terrae), Santa Caterina, Porto Selvaggio, all the small villages of the Grecia Salentina - where the elders still speak ancient greek.
Summertime is full of events and excitement, with even the smallest village featuring a local food fest with music, dancing, lights, and of course plenty of food. At the end of August, the gran-finale of the Notte Della Taranta Festival in Melpignano shouldn't be missed. You will fall in love with this part of Italy.
Ca' Mi' is in the historical centre (Centro Storico) of Galatone, a town conveniently located along the main highway that from Lecce brings to Gallipoli and S. Maria di Leuca. Galatone is one of the few towns of Salento showcasing masterpieces by Giuseppe Zimbalo, the artist behind the most renown sites in Lecce: beautiful churches, palazzi, portals and ruins are all at walking distance from 'Ca' Mi''. Galatone is an ideal starting point to explore the beauties of Salento: the Ionio coastline has such gems as Gallipoli, Santa Caterina, Porto Cesareo and Porto Selvaggio. The sightseeing drive all the way down to S. Maria Di Leuca and Otranto is a must. Lecce, Galatina and Nardo', all featuring gorgeous examples of Barocco Leccese, are just a few minutes away. Or you might just want to drive around and get lost in the fantastic rural landscape to discover - and taste! - your own 'Best of Salento'.
