Gaiole, "merrytown", one of four villages in Tuscany which may call itself "in-Chianti", has been an important market town since the Lega del Chianti was formed in 1300. Located 25 km northeast of the medieval town of Siena, renaissance capital Florence is about 50 km away. Gaiole provides for bus services to both Florence and Siena. Closest railway station is Montevarchi.

Three minutes downhill is the Piazza Ricasoli with a vibrating life starting early in the morning and embraced by an "all-that-you need" ambience with coffee bars, enotecas, a frutta e verdura, a macelleria, a Coop, alimentaris and consequently a number of Chianti restaurants. Gaiole has 36 listed wineries and is the center for the famous Chianti Classico wines. Names like Brolio, Castagnoli, Castello di Ama, Riecine and San Felice may all sound familiar.

Pronounced as the "anticamera del paradiso", the Gaiole countryside has easy access to the pleasures of hiking, biking, dining and wine-tasting.

At a request, extras such as car pick-up, cooking classes, chianti dinner, wine-tasting and guided hiking tours could be provided for.

At a request we would also be happy to cater for additional people.
