This beautiful holiday vacation Dormer Bungalow with 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 well appointed bathrooms + excellent formal/informal living is nestled in a whisper quiet rural/hilly/mountainous/farming community.

The elevation allows for sweeping views across to famous Mount Leinster & the unspoilt countryside. The home will appeal to those who seek peace, quiet, tranquillity & picturesque landscapes (ideal if you are wishing to escape from the stress of modern day living).

The property is in close proximity to the town of Bunclody (River Slaney) & on the borders of Co Carlow and Co Wexford + just over an hours drive from Dublin.

Local amenities incl golf clubs (The South East of Ireland being a golfers paradise), fishing (River Slaney), hiking(Wicklow Way), cycling, restaurants, famous villages i.e. Clonegal (Huntington Castle) & Shillelagh. Towns - Borris, Carlow, Enniscorthy, Wexford + the historical city of Kilkenny (beer & castle).

Hiking, walking and hang-gliding:

Distance:The Wicklow Way. Traditionally the Wicklow Way is walked from north to south, beginning at Marlay Park in South Dublin and ending in Clonegal, Co. Carlow. The Wicklow Way can be completed on day trips, covering sections and can be a serious test of physical endurance'.

Picturesque Mount Leinster is the highest mountain in the province of Leinster, Ireland and is the highest of the Blackstairs Mountains at 796 metres (2,605 ft). The mountain is most often climbed from the Nine Stones, a landmark point at the foot of Mount Leinster, about 8 miles east of Borris. Mount Leinster has been used in stages of the Tour of Ireland. The 2011 Mount Leinster Cycling Challenge takes place on Saturday 14th May 2011.

Mt Leinster is a internationally renowned location as well as being a multi-directional site for both hang-gliding and para-gliding during the months of March to October.

Places of interest:

(A) The National Heritage Park at Ferrycarrig, which depicts the evolution of Irish history from 7,000BC to the12th century and the arrival of the Normans. The Hook Lighthouse is a massive 100ft structure that predates the practice of building stone lighthouses by over 600 years. The Ring of Hook Drive takes you through some beautifully scenic coastal roads and historic sites.

(B) John F Kennedy Arboretum - New Ross. The John F Kennedy Arboretum displays an extensive collection of trees and shrubs from temperate regions of the world, dedicated to the memory of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Arranged in botanical sequence, it covers 252 hectares.

(C) Arboretum lifestyle, garden centre and restaurant, Kilkenny Road, Leighlinbridge, Co.Carlow.

(D) Brownshill Dolmen. One very unmistakable monument dating back to pre-historical times is the great Dolmen at Brownshill to the east of Carlow town. The dolmen has a granite capstone weighing over 100 tonnes making it one of the largest in Europe.

Golf:

Golf in the South East of Ireland .This region covers the counties of Carlow, Wexford, Kilkenny, Waterford and Tipperary and it could be described as Ireland's undiscovered golfing region. It has an impressive collection of courses, comprising traditional links, championship parkland courses plus hidden gems.

Local golf clubs include:

(A) Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club which is situated in 300 acres of breathtaking parkland in the former Hall-Dare Estate on the Carlow Wexford border. Newly opened in March 2009, it is already rated in the top 100 courses in Ireland by Golf Digest and is regarded the best ranking course in Co.Wexford. Designed by Jeff Howes the championship course runs over 7000 yards on the Banks of the River Slaney and has a wide variety of holes to satisfy the most discerninging golfer.

(B) Coollattin Golf Club, Coollattin, Shillelagh Challenging 18 hole course with scenic views of the Wicklow countryside & is an oasis of calm in a truly beautiful woodland setting.

(C) Powerscourt (East) Golf Club, Powerscourt Estate, Enniskerry.

(D) Killerig Golf Club, Killerig, Co. Carlow 18-hole Championship parkland course with exceptional views designed to full USGA standard.

(E) Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Country Club, Tullow, Co.Carlow. This 'masterful Christy O'Connor design will remind you of the reason you first swung a club'.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Paul (the owner) a message.

If Paul (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
