Located in the Irish Lake District on the Leitrim / Cavan border, our luxury log cabins enjoy an idyllic setting in mature pine forest on the banks of the Woodford River some 7km south of the market town of Ballyconnell. The location enjoys fantastic amenities for angling, walking, adventuring, caving and many other outdoor pursuits. For the less adventurous the chalets offer a wonderful relaxing environment with only the sound of birdsong and occasional children's laughter

Far from the madding crowd, our cabins are ideally suited for couples and families wanting to get away from it all and enjoy peace and quiet as they occupy an idyllic setting deep in the forest. Situated on the banks of the Woodford River the surrounding woodland is home to rare plant species and an abundance of wildlife. Our cabins make the most of their picturesque setting, affording peaceful woodland views and individual privacy. The cabins are equipped with everything you will need for a fantastic holiday, and the attention to the small details of design and finish are evident throughout.

The cabins are fully fitted with all modern conveniences including ceramic hob cooker and fan-oven, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dish-washer, coffee machine washing machine, satellite TV (Sky Freeview), CD / Blueray player, extensive library of various books and children's books and luxury spa bath. High quality bed linen and towels are provided.

The cabins can easily accommodate three couples in three bedrooms, three bathrooms (one en suite). Space to park three cars at each cabin. The cabins and balconies are totally non-smoking.

Please note that the cabins are suitable for couples and family groups wanting peace and quiet with a maximum occupancy of 6 adults and two additional young children.

We do not accept bookings from groups of unsupervised teenagers nor do we rent the property for "parties" and any misleading bookings for same will be cancelled on arrival.

Dogs are welcome but we do limit this to two.

Interaction with guest

We always welcome guests and show them around the cabin explaining the central heating and other aspects and give information on places to eat and to visit. We also would be on hand at check out. We expect guests to adhere to the terms of the booking contract which includes a no smoking policy and compliance with the complex rules which includes restrictions on late night noise and "parties". We do not let the cabins to groups of unsupervised teenagers nor for "drinking parties" and any misleading bookings for such will be cancelled without refund on arrival.

This is a quiet location and as such the property is suitable for families and up to three couples (a maximum legal occupancy of six people) wishing to enjoy the peace and quiet of the location.

We do not rent the property for groups of teenagers or for "parties" and will refuse admission if bookings are made with the intention to mislead in the latter case.

We allow a maximum of two well behaved dogs accompanying guests.

“Relaxing week away!”

Just returned from a very relaxing week at 36 River Valley and this was definitely a home away from home. It was spotlessly clean and there were lots of extras to make the stay even more comfortable. We will definitely return as it is such a relaxing spot. It was heaven each morning to sit and have coffee listening to the sounds of the local wildlife. Thank you Colin for everything!

Myself and 4 friends came to this lodge for some R&R from our busy lives as mummies, it was perfect in every single way! We met Bernie when we arrived and immediately we fell in love with the place, not only for the lodge itself but also the owner, she was so accommodating and her ability to make you feel welcome was brilliant! We cannot wait for our next visit, which hopefully won’t be in the too distant future!

Myself wife and 2 kids (17&12) stayed here last week for 5 night's.Wish we had of done longer now.The owners meet you on arrival and are very welcoming and friendly.The cabin is well kitted out everything you could ask for in it,very spacious and beautifully decorated.Nice touch with the little surprise in the fridge which was very much appreciated after our long journey as was the chocolates by the kids(not so little kids ).look in the utility room for lots of games for the family to enjoy.beautiful tranquil settings for everyone to enjoy. Even our 2 loved it and the plus side is actually not having Wi-Fi or phone reception as you get to spend proper quality time with the family.short stroll from the river bank for anyone who might enjoy a bit of fishing .Cannot recommend this beautiful cabin highly enough 5* all round.

You will not be disappointed booking this cabin ! Set in beautiful, peaceful and very picturesque grounds, this cabin is outstanding and extremely comfortable to stay in. My husband and I stayed with our 2 pups and we loved every second of our stay. The owners were super friendly and left a lovely surprise in the fridge for our stay. The cabin is so spacious and has everything you need for a lovely, quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the crazy world we live in. Ok, the mobile phone reception isn't great, but that's the whole point of this getaway and with so many beautiful forest walks around and lots of games to play (look in the utility room) you will not be bored. We would recommend this cabin for everyone and if you bring your pets and need somewhere pet friendly to go for something to eat, I would highly recommend the Anglers Rest in Ballyconnell itself, they welcomed us and the dogs inside and the food was absolutely outstanding! Fantastic holiday ... 10 out of 10 from us :-)

The place was amazing. Beautiful kitted out, wonderful location, everything you could need in terms of creature comforts and the owner even left a nice little surprise in the fridge for us which was a lovely touch. The owners were friendly, helpful and highly accommodating and even greeted us on arrival which was lovely. The house was spotless, really spacious, and tastefully decorated. I wish i could have extended my trip. a thoroughly nice bunch of people with an exceptional cabin. if i'm ever in the area again i would stay and i have no problem recommending it to other people. Pricing was really reasonable too ...what more could you ask for?

What can i say? The log cabins are a hidden gem, so beautiful and peaceful! My wife and I and two friends went up for a wee easter break to get away from the buzz of work and life in general! We were slightly concerned with no wifi and signal but you know what, we didnt miss it that much! Playing board games, talking to eachother and having a proper laugh did us the world of good, with a few drinks ofcourse ;) couldnt recommend this place enough, will definitely book again next year!!! :)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
