From the owner

Mas d'en Porte is a traditional Catalan Farmhouse, with lots of character dating from the 15th Century. Completely modernised in 2012, it is set on the edge of a small, quiet village - just a 5mins walk to shop / boulangerie, bar and choice of restaurants, whilst the beach is just 15mins by car.

Traditional Catalonian / French Farmhouse (Mas), with unique original character including oak beams, set in south facing gardens with exclusive use swimming pool (8m x 4m).

• Mas d’en Porte – sleeps 10 / 11 (4 bedrooms, 4 WC’s and 3 bathrooms), stunning detached Mas with self contained apartment. This property is set in a large garden (approx 2,000 m2) with an exclusive use swimming pool. Choice of two south facing “al fresco” dining areas; one in the stone featured exterior dining area (cave) and one on the terrace adjacent to the main lounge and kitchen.

Accommodation

• Ground Floor – quaint, spacious self-contained apartment. Ideal for single person or 2 people. Double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. Separate kitchen / living room, with double sofa divan (suitable for children), leading on to two private terraces – one east facing and the other south facing.

• Half Level –– South facing terrace with shaded dining area – ideal for eating al fresco and great as a retreat in summer, adjacent to first floor kitchen.

• First floor – Farmhouse styled kitchen-diner with Mediterranean and mountain views. Fully equipped granite top kitchen with double range-oven, dishwasher, washing machine, American styled fridge, wine cooler and microwave. King-size bedroom ensuite (shower & WC) with Mediterranean views. Additional separate WC.

• Half Level – Very spacious lounge with suite and double sofa leading to south facing terrace with a further exterior / al fresco dining area for approx 6/7 people, overlooking the garden with views to Pyrenees.

• 2nd Floor – Comprising two separate bedrooms. One large family bedroom with double bed and 2 x single beds. One further double bedroom. Adjacent family bathroom & WC.

The spectacular views which you adored are one of the most frequently commented features of our property and setting. In addition, the proximity of the village, just 5mins walk is a real bonus too – with a small shop (sells bread and croissants); two restaurants (Soixante Six and L’Axurit), plus a bar and a small weekly market. We have many 3 and even 4 generation families stay at our properties – so thank you for considering how the layout is suitable for all ages. Finally, thank you for your recommendation.

The farmhouse itself was lovely, very nice location, however extremely quiet in late September as most shops/restaurants/bars in the nearby towns were closed.

Thank you for your positive feedback about Mas d'en Porte and the location in the village of Villelongue dels Monts. Thankfully we are blessed with a bar and two restaurants all within walking distance - plus plenty of restaurants in the villages of Laroque des Alberes and Sorede. Equally, as Collioure is popular all year round, you will always find a selection of restaurants open throughout the year. It can be rather busy in July / August, and September is a good time to visit when there is less hussle.

The accommodation at Rousillon is magnificent - beautifully laid out and equipped - a wonderful place for a family get together. The garden is beautiful and makes one feel one is nestled in the hills.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
