Villa Isadora: Luxury and Beauty. Panoramic views of Sea and Mountain, Pool
Lovely villa, beautiful island
Villa Isadora was very spacious and well presented and thought out. I loved the garden - it was beautifully green. The pool is lovely to cool off or do a few lengths!!The air conditioning was very welcome as there was a heatwave whilst we were there.Dimitri was waiting for us to show us around and was available if needed. The location of the villa means that a car is essential to get around but the roads are largely good.Jane gave us some very helpful information about beaches, restaurants and shops. Thanks to Denise as well for her tips and linen changes!! Recommended! …
Villa Anna Rebecca
This holiday was amazing! We went with family (there was 10 of us). The villa had every thing that we needed. As the owner lives in the USA his father helps out. He was lovely he bought us dinner one night with was kind. There is so much to do on the amazing island of kefalonia/Catalonia. Some days we spent at the pool admiring the view and other days we where out and about on boat trips, visiting castles , beaches and so much more . When we arrived at the villa we where shown about and told every thing we needed to know we where also recommended places to eat and out and shop for food. The beads where relay comfy and the villa was amazing it was the best holiday we have ever had!We are going again this year in august and we are all so exited! …
First class villa, first class location, a definite must.
Our thanks go out to Andy and Lynn for allowing us to share their superb Villa Tychia and also for the interest and care they took from the outset to ensure our stay was just perfect.
Directions they supplied for getting to the villa from the airport were perfect; we arrived at the villa without taking one wrong turn and within 20 - 25 minutes from leaving the airport.
Car is essential
As soon as we arrived and stepped inside the villa we knew we had made the right choice and immediately felt at home. What a fantastic location with a view over the olive groves across to the ocean, tranquil, this place is just peace on earth.
This villa is immaculate, spacious and comfortable with all the facilities you would ever need, including dishwasher and washing machine, all bedrooms with en suite another bonus.
Another fantastic touch is the wine rack, FULLY STOCKED, Use on a help yourself and replace basis, genius idea, Andy and Lynn really have thought of everything.
Gardens are immaculately tended and a BBQ too, great pool and cleaned regularly by the pool man.
If you just want to chill and relax, no doubt this is the place, if you want to explore the island this is a great place to start from. Set in the village of Pessada only a 15 minute walk to a choice of beeches. Beautiful Must places we visited, Myrtos Beech, Poros, Sami, Skala, Assos and Fiscardo, all are stunning.
Argostoli the capital is a 10 minute drive away, a great place to spend a couple of hours have a coffee and look over the harbour, watch fishermen tending their catch or look in awe at some of the yactht's. If you want to browse or buy, a fantastic range of shops.
Throughout Kefalonia we found the locals friendly and cheerful, nothing was to much trouble.
Our thanks also go to Debbie and Steve the managing agents, Debbie made sure we were settled and all was OK and provided a maid service a couple of times a week, Debbie also proved a fountain of knowledge regarding the island with lots of useful information.
A definite recommend. …
VILLA PARADISO KEFALONIA
Fantastic Holiday in a superb location!
Me, my wife and my kids all stayed at Villa Paradiso last week (returned yesterday on 16th Aug). I am a very fussy guy when it comes to location, quietness, cleanliness, etc and I also I only write reviews when I have either had a superb time or a really bad time and on this occasion, we had an absolutely fantastic holiday on Kefalonia.
The villa itself is situated within a few acres of its own land with neighbours at a very fair distance so privacy is superb here. If you have kids, you seriously will not find a better villa on the island. The pool is superb and very well maintained by the lovely owner, Helen, who I have to say, was wonderful during our stay. She was so helpful with everything we needed, from advising us on places to go, to even organising our dinner on our first night after a long day travelling with 3 very ratty and hungry young kids.
Going back to the villa, its clean, well equipped if you want to cook and within ideal distances of beaches, tavernas, shops, etc. We hired a car and I was a little hesitant about driving abroad in a left hand drive but it was great fun and its the best way to see the island. How-ever, if you do not want to drive, taxi's are accessible to the villa.
The best parts of our holiday were sitting out at night over-looking the lit-up swimming pool listening to the crickets and other wonderful wild-life whilst watching the bats swoop down on the pool, its a magical setting and thats exactly why its called Villa Paradiso!
Thanks Helen for our wonderful holiday and I will 100% be coming back to Villa Paradiso and next time, it will be for 2 weeks as 1 week is not long enough at your wonderful villa!
A truly wonderful relaxing holiday!
Having just arrived home, days after our perfect holiday, feel compelled to share some of this experience. If you are a Greek Island lover but Cephalonia is not on your list then this must be rectified immediately! I thought I had seen all over the years holidaying in Spetsas, Rhodes, Crete, Kos and Cyprus but have to say none are more beautiful than this island.
Five adults and 5 children, we were looking for relaxation and fun but on arrival were immediately beaten down by the heat circa mid 30C’s, admittedly they were experiencing a mini heat wave but 10 Englanders flying in from the British summer of 2012, the low 20C’s would have been exhaustive…! Our ‘fall’ was caught by the beauty of this rock, completely dominated by Mount Ainos, nearly 5000ft high, the smell of pine, jasmine and bougainvillea and the colours. Brilliant blue skies, the green of the pines, greys of the mountain, meeting the yellows and whites of the sand and pebbles then disappearing into the aqua marine of the sea. Hollywood special effects? No! A dream, maybe…
The ‘fall’ was cushioned and soothed by the clear waters of many of the local beaches which everyday declared an exotic looking fish or 2, something blue or pink striped of even a starfish, or deep red coloured crabs, incredible. And the clear and cleanliness of it all…
Our base was Pessada, perfectly quiet except for the hum of our swimming pool filter and the background clicking of cicadas. This old and typically Greek village (still showing old building wrecks pre 1953 earthquake) is ideally situated, 15 minutes from the airport and Island capitol of Argostoli. A 10 minute walk to the local beaches, sandy or rocky, whatever takes your fancy or even a 45 minute ferry trip to Zante. Or our favourite, a 10 minute car journey to Lourdas Beach, nestling at the very bottom of the God like Mount Ainos! It has to be seen to be believed, walking out yards into the sea and turning back around to see the landscape and this mountain looking straight back at you. Breath taking! And who needs the south of France or Capri when you can follow the twisty, windy road from Pessada, a couple of hundred feet up the mountain making your way to Skala, looking down at all the pretty beaches, inlets and bays.
All the usual amenities are to hand and a good choice of taverna’s and restaurants too but the car is a must and to think how small the island is, we only saw the southern parts. So, the North has to be visited, Sami, Fiskado and Assos resorts to name but a few.
Even with 5 children ranging from 18 down to ten years of age we were completely able to wind-down, turn off the engine and almost throw away the keys and Villa Kallisto made this possible. A beautiful house, a beautiful spot and magnificent views… It wasn’t a dream, was it… …
