“Little slice of paradise” Incredible food. Perfect beach. Professional, talented staff. Great house -- comfortable, classy and laid back, all at the same time. Me and a few friends rented the villa for four days in February, and we had not a single complaint. If you are looking for a low key beach vacation, away from crowds and hubbub, this is a wonderful spot to consider. I can't think of a single complaint. Oh, and the view from the SkyLounge -- exceptional.

“Fun in the sun” We are two seniors who have just spent two glorious weeks at this lovely home. It is nicely decorated with lots of Mexican touches in its decor and art work. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and beach ones as well. The kitchen was great for cooking meals in with a lovely adjoining dining room. The patio was a delight especially in the morning and evening when a menagerie of wild life including many exotic birds would entertain us. We could easily walk to some of the lovely beaches in the early morning. Later in the afternoon we strolled along 5th ave. in search of Mexican crafts and ended the day at some great beach bar or a delicious restaurant. And all that was within walking distance of the home.

“A truly relaxing experience in a beautiful environment.” My husband and I spent my birthday week at Villa Mariposa with a few friends at the beginning of May. The house itself is absolutely perfect. As you can see from the pictures, the backside of the house is a wall of windows. The windows all have the ability to open (and are screened) and bring in an incredible breeze with magical ocean sounds. Lounging both in the house and on the beach (just a few steps away from the house) set the tone for an incredibly relaxing trip. The beds and linens were very comfortable, the house was very clean (and stayed clean throughout the week with the help of the house keeper that comes in once a day), and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, blender, etc. for those that want to do some of their own cooking. The house is located about 10 minutes (driving) from Tulum Pueblo, 15 minutes from Tulum Beach and about 15 minutes from Akumal. There is a refreshing and pristine cenote located about two minutes walking distance from the house. There is a small fee to swim in the cenote, but it is completely worth it. The water is crisp and beautiful. There is a pizza place and another small restaurant located within walking distance from the house, but other than that you'll need to travel by car to get to restaurants, grocery stores and other attractions. (And I wouldn't recommend traveling by cab. We made that mistake once and had a cab driver charge us $75 USD to travel to the grocery store in Tulum Pueblo and back.) We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Mariposa and would definitely recommend it to both friends and family.

“Best vacation our family has ever had” I would like to say this was the best vacation our family has ever had. The condo was perfect for the eight of us that stayed there. Tim was very helpful with his places to visit and giving us the website for transportation service, they were there waiting for us and were there on time to bring us back. Tim always kept in contact with me with any questions I had for him. I would have to say Mike made this trip he was there when we needed anything. The staff at the condo treated you like royalty and that is the reason we are booking this condo again for next year

“Peaceful, relaxing and just awesome!!!” The penthouse is breathtaking. The pictures are great, but once you arrive and step out of the elevator, you feel the beauty of it all. It was hot and humid, but the temperature of the unit was quite cold...we actually adjusted it as we were too cold. The views are spectacular. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the master suite and enjoyed the sunset in the evening from the balcony. Everything was literally as if we were home. Frances and I made a Walmart run, and once I returned, my partner nor I ever left the penthouse. The kitchen had everything we needed. A small barbecue was available. We had ice, two swimming pools, an ipod dock, tv, towels, deck chairs and cooler. The only thing lacking was the functioning of the jets in the upstairs pool. Frances was just awesome. She answered all of our questions, made sure were knew where everything was, how it all worked and reassured us that we could contact her for anything. Tim is an excellent property manager. He too reassured us that we could contact him at anytime, we did and he always made sure to answer all of our tireless questions. Once you confirm your plans, Tim sends a confirmation email with an abundance of helpful information. Read the information. We read it, and it made for a smooth transition into our Home away From Home.

“Beautiful and Amazing Vacation Villa!!!” We stayed at this villa from June 7-14, 2014. We have never rented anything from VRBO so we were not sure what to expect. I have to say that from the very beginning of the process until our trip was through, it was truly a wonderful experience. The owner was very helpful and made the process so simple. I will just tell anyone who is thinking of renting this villa out that it is beautiful. There is tons of room for your family. The location of the villa is amazing. You look out the back sliding doors and you think you are in a dream. You are staring out at the beautiful, blue ocean. You are also very close to the pool which is really nice. Another great thing about this villa is that each day the housekeeper, Guillermina, came to clean. She was so sweet and very good at her job. You never felt like she was intruding on family time. One night, (for a very reasonable fee), we had her husband cook us a Mexican meal. It was so delicious. Not only did our family definitely find Cancun to be the new spot for vacation, we also decided that we never would stay anywhere else with our family in Cancun.
