Comfortable rental in heart of Macon's best wine-yards
Certainly the best vacation rental in the Macon area. This area is filled with good to great small family run restaurants. This house is exactly on the red / white border of Chardonnay and Beaujolais. Minutes from the villages of Pouilly and Fusse twenty minutes from Fleurie with Kodak moments over every hill.
House is clean, well furnished, maintained and contains everything we needed. We stayed two nights in La Forge but found it small for 4 adults so upgraded to La Croix as it was available then and finished our two week stay. If all three residences are rented I think there could be problems with the neighbours kids and cars but it could be a lot of fun also. WIFI is slowwww.
We would return. …

Lovely holiday house in a glorious setting
An absolutely lovely spot in the heart of Burgundy. The house is finished to a high spec and is very well cared for. We stayed in the 2 bed place and thankfully the weather was lovely otherwise we might have struggled with the lack of living space. The lounge/kitchen isn't that spacious but the lovely decor and huge bedrooms made up for it. It is too bad that other than your bed or poolside, there isn't anywhere else you can stretch out and relax. But for our purposes it was fine - we used afternoons to explore the area.
The caretakers were excellent (David and Nicki), full of great ideas. They were also very accommodating with equipment for our two children (baby and toddler). We were able to borrow beds, bedding, highchair and more.
Location wise, within an easy drive of the property are some interesting amenities: shops (we loved the Andre Bio shop - amazing steak), a great little lake with a playground (follow signs to camping), a wee tourist train at Hameau Debouef (very popular with our toddler and since it's a wine shop, also popular with his parents), and a little zoo (it's France, don't expect rides to open before 2pm). …

Superb property in unspoilt rural burgundy
We stayed for 10 days at Vergecosse with friends and family. The house was in excellent repair and tastefully decorated. All rooms had good quality furniture and bathrooms and kitchen were very well equipped. Outside amenities were super with lovely shared pool (neighbours very friendly) with table tennis and boules for guest use. Village very quiet with the local and only bar/restaurant/depot de pain proving to be sweet and welcoming with good food.
Very good attentive service from the young couple acting as concierge who were on hand if anything needed to be done or provided.
Plenty of good walking and cycling routes around the area and lots of lovely villages to visit and sample the local wines. Although super wine from Vergecosse vines available in the property to sample. Would go back tomorrow!!! …

Great place to meet new friends and sample local wine
We came to Vergisonne in July during a really hot spell. The villa we stayed in was lovely, but had a lot of stone steps which made it quite stressful with a toddler around.
The managers for the villas were great and could not have done more to make our stay comfortable.
The pool was a focal point for the stay and we made some lovely friends sitting around the pool in the evening sharing stories and sampling local wine!!
We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family …
