Thank you for your hospitality & prompt return of our deposit, we had a most enjoyable break.
Both the apartment & the locality exceeded our expectations even if the weather didn't.
Being first time visitors to the region we found the dramatic landscapes & many medieval villages an impressive mix. We were equally impressed by how quiet & peaceful both the apartment & surrounding country side are. The birdsong & wild flowers will be lasting memories from our inspiring walks.
We rarely saw another vehicle on the roads once we left the towns behind & met very few visitors while sampling some of the many attractions.
All this combined with the excellent food & wine made it our kind of holiday, we shall definitely be returning!
We can recommend visits to Cirque De Navacelles (excellent but steep walk from the Visitors Centre on the ridge of the Gorge to the village at the bottom) & Cirque De Moureze ( many marked trails to follow), The Villages of La Couvertoirade & St Guilhem Le Desert, the walk up the hill behind the apartment (following footpath PR1) The Wendnesday market at Clermont l'Herault followed by lunch at Le Tournesol restaurant. …
Villa Les 4 Saisons
A great villa in a lovely location
We stayed at the Villa 4 Saisons in September. We found the property easily following the detailed instructions which had been provided by Tom. A quick tour guided by Tom made us realise how much bigger the villa was than we expected. The lounge is very comfortable and spacious and the kitchen is a very good size. On the website photographs they seem smaller. The outside space is excellent - lots of areas to sit out including a wonderful barbecue space.
The pool is great and terrace ideal for sunbathing. There is plenty of literature provided in the villa to make finding your way round the area easier and more interesting. Lots of great restaurants were recommended and really lived up to expectations - try Le Sommelier, Terre et Mer, Hotel de la Paix and Bistro Alex at Florensac. The town of Lodeve has all the shops you could need for day to day stuff and a few extras with larger towns not far away. You should do the tour of the carpet museum it is the most amazing place, stunning! So much to see and do in the area. A must is the Cirque du Navacelles and you mist go down to the bottom, slip your shoes off and wade in the cool mountain river and eat in the tiny restaurant, La Couvertoirade is fascinating and so worth a visit, Carcassone, of course, but also Montpelier, Clermont Herault, Millau. The landscape has to be seen to be believed. Everything combined here to make this one of our most memorable holidays. Try it! …
