Carcassonne Cite Townhouse, Three Bedrooms, aircon
Wonderful holiday in Carcassonne

Breathtaking area, we fell in love with the Cite and the Bastide (the lower town). The townhouse was big, clean, comfortable and in the most perfect position. We really appreciated the air conditioning as it was very hot during our stay and late afternoons were spent on the terrace playing cards with a glass of wine. We had some great meals out and plenty of excellent Cassoulet. The whole family want to return again, when we do we'll definitely stay here again, it was just fantastic.see more

Brilliant location

We stayed for four nights, the apartment is in an unbelievable location, so close to the old cite, in a typical old French house, just across from the St Gimer church. It is an easy walk across the river to the new cite, which is old, but not medieval!!! The apartment is spotlessly clean, with all new furniture, the kitchen has everything you could need. The bed is a good size, comfortable, all the linens were of good quality. It has been fully renovated, shower is a good size, loads of hot water, can't really say anything negative. It is like living in "proper" France!!!!! The owners, Inga and Mick, are helpful and will help in anyway they can, very patient and kind, and spent time explaining about the area and any other questions we asked. It is a tremendous help being met at the airport, we enjoyed meeting them, and hope to return next year. Carcassonne is well worth a visit!!!!!see more

Finns in France

This is a review from a party of 5 from Finland (You now; the country where polarbears are walking on the streets and the snow only melts for two weeks in June). We wisited Carcassonne in July 2013; two weeks of sunshine and 30 - 36 degrees celsius every day. The old city including the Cité is fantastic with it´s old buildings, narrow streets and small cafés and shops. The Cité (castle) is just above the old town and is full of interesting places, double walls, lots of towers and the citadel inside the Cité moves you back to the 12. century. If only the walls could tell their story.... Inside the Cité you will find souvernir shops, restaurants. Just walking around doing windowshopping, stopping here and there for drinks is a fantastic way to spend a day or two. In the modern city on the other side of the Aude river, you will find the usual shops that that belongs in a town like this. If you are interested you can take a cruise along Canal du Midi. If you have rented a car I recommend a stop at the tourist office and getting maps of the countryside. In a radius of 50 km you can find lots of small villages. Everyone with a history of their own. Be aware that some of the roads can be more than very narrow. This is not our first stay i Carcassonne. Two years ago we spent a week here and also rented the same appartment; Cezanne. As the appartment has two bedrooms and a sofa that opens up to a fullsize bed, our party of 5 persons had plenty of room to move around in. As the appartment has Wi-Fi our children spent late evenings and early mornings on the internet. They just have to stay in contact with their friends back home in Finland. In the appartment you will find everything you need, even for a longer stay. And Inga took care of us in a fantastic and familylike way. We e-mailed each other for almost a year before our trip, asking about this and that and we always received fast answers. As we arrived on a sunday she offered to supply us whith some basics supplies so we should not need to go hungry. Even when I made some changes to our flight back home Inga printed our new bording cards and brought them to us. I can´t see how service can get any better than this. This year we took part in the celebration of Bastille day on the 14 of July (that´s the french independence day). And watching the fireworks from our appartment windows was something awesome. We recommend Carcassonne to everyone interested in history, because this place is full of it. And staying in this appartment on Rue de la Gaffe just lets you breathe the air of history.see more

Perfect escape

We visited Carcassone staying at Cite View (Monet) in September 2016, we had an amazing break. Not only was the view of the citadel from the apartment fantastic, the facilities and welcome we received were excellent and just what you need to make your break complete. We visited the local shop for fresh produce each morning and were always greeted with a smile. Being able to relax and enjoy our time together, visiting the old and new city and taking a trip along the canal was a nice tourist aspect, knowing we could return to a little haven was the best part of our trip and that's why we are heading back this year and hopefully seeing more of the region. I can highly recommend staying at Cite View for a break away and in the knowledge that Inga and Mick are close at hand, if needed.see more

So close to the castle...

A last minute trip away for me and my wife. We picked this flat because we didn't want stairs due to my wife's handicap but wanted to be close to the Cite. Inga picked us up from the station and took us to the apartment where she ran though all the facilities. I can recommend the Ostal restaurant in the Cite for a vine charcoal grilled steak.see more
