“Lovely family/large group holiday house” We had a lovely holiday at beau rivage.
The booking process was very simple and prior to arrival nothing was too much trouble. Felt like a very personal service with Donna (the owner) calling me on a few occasions before we travelled.
They provided an extra high chair and heated the pool free of charge.
When we arrived the house looked great and they had even wrote a welcome message on the chalk wall in the playroom with all our children's names on it. And adults got a welcome card and bottle of bubbles! Little touches had really been thought of even down to cotton wool pads in all bathrooms and baby shampoo and bubble bath (all branded johnsons)
Kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would possibly need and 2 big fridge freezers. Lots of seating places - for relaxing and dining. Felt well laid out for our 3 families.
Playroom was priceless for my daughter and niece both 3.5 years old. It was so easy for them to relax and play in their own space and doors opened out onto the patio. The only thing I would say is a lot of the dvds we put on were scratched and stopped part way through watching and toys need replacing or cleaning. But we were there the last week of the season so maybe this was to be expected.
Pool area was very secure and we all really enjoyed using this area. The garden was nice but lawn was bumpy and dry more soil than grass in areas - so not that safe for toddlers to run around on. Maybe Astro turf would be better?
We didn't really have any need for support when we were there. The hot tub and pool were checked regularly which was reassuring. We couldn't get the tv/DVD player/gamestation on the landing upstairs working but didn't try to get it looked at as we wanted the children downstairs with us anyway. But I am sure someone would have been there to help if we needed it.
The little village had everything you needed - we had some lovely strolls (2 minutes max) to the local shops including a boulangerie, butchers, grocers and wine shop, 1 bar,1 restaurant. And also walked to local larger supermarket 10/15 minutes. Didn't feel like it took very long at all.
Local market was great to have on our doorstep aswell.
We found a fantastic gift shop in the village aswell that sells bits from the little lovely company which i love (along with lots of other brands) and it was actually cheaper than what I have paid in the uk!
We drove out to il de re and La Rochelle - both great days out. Il de re is so picturesque!
Have to say thankyou to Donna and the team and wouldn't hesitate about booking with them again.
