“Excellent choice in Kailua-Kona area” If you are looking for a "party place" where you can blare music until all hours of the night, this is not the place for you. If, however, you are searching for an ideally located guest house to stay in which also offers peace, tranquility and two of the friendliest owners you'll ever meet, then this is the place you should be booking. We stayed in the Hibiscus suite which is large and has a good-sized deck out the back that offers an incredible tropical environment for dining or lounging. As stated earlier, this place is ideally situated for visiting around the island being only 2 minutes to the Belt Highway, 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown Kailua-Kona. We visited all of the island sites(aside from Volcano National Park and Puna) while staying at this guest house and never had long drives or heavy traffic to deal with. Anne and Nanette were both very knowledgeable and helpful, offering lots of tips/insights for things to see and do during our stay including best places to park, best places to see turtles, how to access beaches, etc. They provided our first breakfast (fruit, butter, jam, etc) and left small dishes of nuts, chocolates, etc, almost every day and provide almost any kitchen utensil/appliance you could ever need for preparing meals. One of the best decisions we made on this trip was to stay at Bears' Place Guest House and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Big Island.

“Better than we remembered. And we were blown away the first time” This is the second year in a row we have chosen to stay at Banyan Tree #306. We were blown away last year and the place was better than we remembered. Several nice touches inlcuded more beach toys, including nice boogie boards and snorkle gear. The lanai had a better view than most of the restaurants in town and the expensive resorts. My wife was up at dawn every morning for a nice long walk along ali'i drive and the kids loved the pool and hot tub. They even swam with some turtles right in front. Highly recomended.
