“Agatinas Is Simply Perfect” My husband and I stayed at this charming property between 3 and 14 June and we loved it. First it was down to the charming hosts, Joseph and Joanna who are lovely people, and were so kind and nothing was too much trouble. The house is in a quiet street and is laid out stylishly on 3 levels, we opted for the bedroom and shower room on the top floor, where you could step out of your bedroom onto a lovely private patio which got the sun virtually all day. We also received a lovely welcome basket of food and wine which kept us going for a couple of days, and there were plenty of toiletries in the house so we did'nt need to buy those either. The house is very charming, and was spotless too. We really felt at home and were sad to leave.
“Can I give 10*” This is our second stay at a property belonging to Alfie having spent our first holiday in Malta last year at Alfie's Place.
Right from the moment of booking this break we were treated as friends and correspondence was treated efficiently. We were collected by our host from Luga Airport and taken to a local hostilary in Birgu where we enjoyed a welcoming drink before being taken to our 'home' for the week.
As Alfie opened the front door we were blown away by the beauty and character of this property. Enormous amounts of space greeted us in the living room, followed on to the kitchen which is well laid out and has room to sit, then on to the beautiful bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. The tour continued upstairs to the second bedroom and bathroom and then on up again to a beautiful roof terrace. First impressions were memorable but as we had arrived late in the evening and were tired we decided further exploration could wait.
After a nights sleep we woke to find a lovely welcome pack in the fridge, consisting of bread, butter, milk, cheese and ham as well as tea, coffee, sugar and fresh fruit on the table so that was breakfast sorted.
The house itself has been unspoilt by over modernisation retaining many of the original features including the vaulted ceilings and open stonework walls ... the pictures don't do justice the wonderful atmosphere that is in this beautiful property.
If I were to complain of anything it would be that the bed linen was a little too warm for our liking.
If it says anything at all, we have already told Alfie we wish to visit again next year. A great host, available in case of need and only a phonecall away, for who nothing is too much trouble. We will tell family and friends of our beautiful find ... PERFECT!
“Hot Tub Luxury” This is a beautiful house in a maze of streets that make up the old town of Qormi. Very well put together and spacious. The real treat is having the roof space with it's hot tub. It was nice to feel a part of a real Maltese town and this area is not at all touristy. Nearby are bakers and convenience stores and a great local food restaurant just 4 doors away. As the house is right on the street it was quite noisy with early morning fish and vegetable sellers hawking their wares but for us this added to the atmosphere of the place.
