“Beautiful view, friendly staff, uncomfortable funiture” We have stayed at Makena Surf at least a half a dozen times. It's our favorite spot. This experience was truly enjoyable. The unit was clean, well maintained and the view unmatched. As the vacation went on we became annoyed with the the comfort and size of furniture. It is small, old, tired, and out of style. The cushions slip off the sofa and loveseat if more than one person sits on them. Our vacation nearly perfect, but can't sit and relax and enjoy the view! Patio furniture provided more comfort.

“Second to none...” We stayed in Kyle's unit (306) in late July. Although our travel plans were unexpectedly changed at the last minute because of United airlines and Tropical Storm Flossie, Kyle was very understanding and accommodating. I can vouch for everything the other reviewers have written. The setting was beautiful, and watching the surf and the surfers from the Lanai was a great way to begin and end the day as we enjoyed the spectacular sunsets. The unit was private, clean, modern, equipped with a full complement of snorkeling, boogie boards and other toys. It was also remarkably quiet (other than the sound of the surf), and the location was convenient to Kailua and conveniences. A small, friendly grocery store was located right across the street. When we return to Kona, we will not look elsewhere!

“Wonderful week in paradise!” The staff at ali'i Resorts is fantastic and helped us to plan fun adventures for our family throughout our stay. The housekeeping staff was attentitive and worked hard each day to help make our stay great. The property and condo were both very well maintained and beautiful- with spectacular views throughout. One of our favorite features was the patio and the amazing view that we enjoyed while dining outdoors. The beach access was convenient, just a short walk down a paved path to the beach that offered kid friendly boogie boarding waves and rock outcropings for snorkeling. We have stayed in a few of the luxury hotels in Wailea and prefer the relaxed environment of Makena Surf.

“The best place to stay” We stayed in this awesome rainforest cabin for our honeymoon. The owners are gracious and totally accommodating. The grounds are clean & in excellent shape! The cabin is beautiful! The ambiance is more than we expected and we would stay there again anytime and recommend it to anyone! Easy access yet you feel like you're in a jungle!

“Everything Fantastic!” Accessibility is the word! Right across from a surfing beach, 2 blocks pleasant walk to a great swimming beach, pool and always-ready hot tub on the premises, an easy walk to many shops and eats. “Great Place” We loved this place and would love to stay again. We stayed for two weeks! The location was great. Not too touristy. Great location right on the beach. Plus they had all of the beach accessories that we needed including beach chairs, towels, snorkels, and boogie boards and a surf board. The house was incredibly clean and up to date, just wish there was a second full bath. Awesome kitchen as well. Cant wait to get back. Thanks Ryan!

“Week in Paradise!!!” We had the most amazing family vacation at Papakea G-407. The complex is located in a great area, close and convenient to shopping, dining, awesome beaches. It is small enough to feel like its your personal space, but has amenities and class of the big mega resorts. The actual unit was very comfortably furnished, had everything we needed, and extras we were not expecting. Sitting on the Lanai, watching the ocean over breakfast and dinner or enjoying a glass of wine was just the best! Our family really loved the fact that the condo was affordable to the point that we could get out, explore and enjoy all that Maui had to offer. Great Snorkeling, Zip-lining, Luau, shopping, many fantastic restaurants and a sunset vow renewal on the beach. The best part of renting from anne and Wes is the care that they took to make sure we had everything we needed for the best vacation ever. Lots of advice and tips that you cannot get from anyone unless they know the island. They turned us on the the best places to snorkel, places to eat, places to shop, things to do. The personal attention was better than any concierge! My family will definitely be back, there is no reason to test out another resort!

“Exceptional home away from home!” Just as described, the kihei oasis is an excellent vacation rental. The layout of the home, furnitionings and it's convenient surroundings, I would definitely recommend staying here. The jacuzzi was a hit, but the real bonus was the little amenities that you don't really think of until you need it. I opened the kitchen cabinets and found foil, oil, shoyu sauce and lots of helpful seasonings. The bathroom cabinets also had additional body wash, shampoo, lotion and for kids too. Although we brought our own amenities, I'm glad you have them available especially for large families. Also a garage wall dedicated to fun in the sun activities, boardgames and so much more. Mahalo to the Morts ohana for providing such a lovely home away from home, We definitely enjoyed ourselves!

“Perfect Location for a Perfect Kahului Vacation” My husband and I loved this large beautiful roomy condo at the Whalers in Maui. The wonderful fact that it is on the ground floor (no elevators wait time) and entrances from both the front door and direct lanai access to beach was such an added plus. We were literally 30 steps from the ocean yet it is quiet and feels very private. The well-stocked kitchen provided everything (except for the food and wine) for our sunset cocktails and steak dinners on the waterfront. Passers-by were envious of our perfect unobstructed ocean view. This is an ideal spot for a romantic get-away, close to everything we love about Maui.

“Outstanding Home, Would Stay Here again” This rental is better than described. The pictures don't do it justice. Our stay was comfortable and fantastic!!! The view was gorgeous! “25th anniversary in Maui” Honokowai Palms is just what we needed for our 25th anniversary. Comfortable, convenient, full of amenities, and clean. The information provided was a tremendous help to make our stay both enjoyable and also more affordable. We loved staying in a condo that had it all from appliances to beach gear. The location was just right...next to a wonderful farmers market and coffee shop. 5 minutes from awesome shopping, restaurants, and beaches. The park right across the street is perfect for families to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, viewing turtles or just relaxing on the beach or in the grass. There are plenty of places within walking distance for meals, spa treatments or shopping. What ever your schedule might be, there are suggestions for the best places to go across the island. The books on Maui really helped find hiking spots and sight seeing locations. The condo is right in between to big resort locations, but feels like your home town with where its situated. One of the best beaches that is a cove is right up the road north in Napili for board activities, family outings and even has 2 restaurants. The owners of the condo thought of everything to make the best of your time on the island without breaking the bank. My wife and I couldn't have had a better time even in the big resorts because we were in charge and our parking spot was right in front of the door. Remeber to take time to just relax and lay on the beach, coffee in the morning and/or drinks in the afternoon were awesome on the beach right in the park 100yds from the condo. Don't pass up the volcano, Whaler's village (good shopping, beach area and eateries on the beach with live music), Front Street in Lahaina and Honolua Bay. Parking is the only challenge around the island, look for blue beach access signs, the open areas on the side of the roads, or just ask the locals and condo owners. The only way you can't have a good time is if you turn on the TV and sit on the couch all day! Enjoy Maui!

“Best Vacation Ever” This was an amazing vacation from the very start. Even before we left I was able to speak with Ning about the home and the area. She had some great suggestions about different activities and restaurants. The home was fantastic. It was way more room than we needed with 5 bedrooms, a large kitchen and spacious living room. The highlight of the home for us was the wrap-around lanai. I was nice to just sit outside and relax in the bright sun and refreshing trade winds. The amenities in the home were also outstanding. “Peaceful Retreat” We spent 2 weeks in the recently remodeled condo. It does not look like the picture but the decor is traditional, not tropical. Except for stained carpet and discolored grout in kitchen counters, it is in good condition. The MBR shower has new tile and an amazing shower head. The second bathroom has new tile and bathtub. Directions he sends 2 days before arrival are very helpful, except password for WiFi needs to be corrected and directions for TV and cable added. We called the owner for help and he was very helpful. We liked the location and privacy of the unit the most.
