“Personal Paradise” I cannot say enough about how happy I was when I arrived here. This place captures the beauty and serenity of the island with it's landscaping and views. The main cottage is complete in everything you could need. A wonderfully stocked kitchen down to spices for cooking. Fresh flowers, a fruit basket, and a handwritten welcome note greet you when you arrive. The bed in the main cottage is not only beautiful, but comfortable. The detached bedroom down the path is as well. And it has it's own porch and view. The bath is wonderful. Coming from the cold winter in pa and being able to be 'outside' as you shower was so very refreshing. All the attention to detail in the architecture and decorating gives this rental so much charisma. If you are looking for a resort, this is not it. If you are looking for a charming, authentic, comfortable place to experience the island...this is. Harry is unobtrusive, but is there if you need anything. This is a great place for a small family or two couples. I don't think it would be suitable for small children though. I know I will stay here again when I return to the Big Island.

“Quaint and Cozy Cottage” My husband and I had a wonderful time at your place. Pumpkin was a delight to have around for company. The place was well equiped, very clean and we felt very at home staying there. We only wished we stayed longer. The view was exceptional and you as owner were very friendly and accomodating. We highly recommend this to our friends and family and hope to come back again some time soon.

“The Real Hawaii - Magical” My husband, two year old daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for a few days in February. The cottage is amazing and fully equipped. The outdoor kitchen made us feel like we were on a cooking show on The Food Network. It was stocked right down to pink Himalayan sea salt. The master bed is very comfy - resort quality sheets and linens. There is an outdoor shower which is lovely for rinsing off after the beach and an indoor bath for relaxing. The beach itself was very close - my two year old could walk there - maybe 200 ft or so. The beach has a sandy area, a grassy park and a small sandy entrance way between lava rocks to swim out to excellent snorkeling. While out swimming my husband saw pods of dolphins which frequent this bay. We also heard whales in the early morning hours. Rusty and Janice were excellent hosts and introduced us to some friends and locals, giving us a feel for the real Hawaii. Rusty gave a demonstration of opening up a coconut with a machete which was a big hit with my daughter. All in all a magical place to stay, we were just sorry we hadn't planned a longer visit.

“Peacefully tranquil place” A simply wonderful stay in a lovely cottage. Manicured garden, attention to detail, and in a great location. The room was spotless, a nice comfy bed and the just exactly perfect shower. Babette is a charming hostess indeed. The best place to stay in this area, walk to the Kehena Black sand beach. No reason to search any more, this is the best value.

“Very Impressed” We enjoyed the cottage and grounds very much, and will go back as soon as possible. Owner, Manager and staff all great to work with, all quite helpful. Location and beach are hard to beat. The cottage is right on the ocean, with a long beautiful beach adjacent to the grounds, pretty much deserted. We never walked the full beach-it's just too long. :) Overall very quiet, romantic, tranquil. I've been to many beach rentals around O'ahu and this cottage definitely stands out for value, amenities and location. Enjoy. Aloha.

“Secluded and Romantic Island Getaway” For our first trip to Maui, my husband and I decided that we wanted to stay some place away from the hustle and bustle of the beach condos. And boy are we glad that we did!! The cottage was spacious and perfectly sized for us. Although we love the beach we were so happy to be able to drive back to our quiet and private cottage. It was the perfect location to go explore the island -- from the drive to hana, to haleakala, to the western and southern parts of the island we feel like were able to see everything we wanted. And the most delicious fish market is right down the street. If we ever decide to go back to Maui, we will not be looking for another place to stay. Thank you Barbara and Hank!

“Peaceful Retreat” This is the second time we have rented this cottage, and we have loved staying there each time. It is perfect for 2 or 3 people, especially if you like having a kitchen at your disposal. We like the location between the north shore and Kapaa. Greg and Sue are both very friendly and helpful.

“A peaceful vacation on the eastern side of the Island.” We stayed at this lovely house for nine days and we couldn't choose a better place for our holidays. It has a comfortable bedroom, a nice living room and a well equipted kitchen. We loved the spatious balcony/porch where we always had a breakfast. There were some lovely flowers blossoming just in front at the time of our stay. The house has a nice location - this side of the island is really peaceful but still has interesting places to go and explore (don't miss the volcano NP, black sandy beach just few minutes away, warm springwater pool, local market on wedesdays and so much more). You can explore the other side of the island from here as well. It only takes about two hours to the Kona if you take the Saddle road (brand new). There are some great historic places to visit and beaches to try out but that side of the island is much more crowded and it is nice to retourn to the peaceful and green side in the evening. All in all - we would definitely come again.
