“I will be coming back again!!” This is a great house for a family or romantic getaway. It is clean, spacious, and had all of the amenities of home. After a long day of activities it was nice to just sit on the lanai and relax while the children were playing in the game room. It was perfect for our family. I highly recommend this property. I will be coming back to this gem!

“Fantastic comfortable base to explore wonderful Maui” I can't say enough good things about this lovely condo! - Linda the owner was so helpful throughout the booking process and our stay and returned our security deposit really quickly! she sent us loads of really useful info. which helped us 1st timers to Maui. To say we loved it is an understatement, the condo is just as described/pictured, its huge!! and is a few minutes across the road from the lovely Kamaole Beach Park. You have everything you need here for a fantastic holiday, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers the lot. The pool at the condo is clean and well maintained and on the days we used it we had it mostly to ourselves, The rooftop terrace and BBQ area is brilliant, but we only used it once as there are more than enough restaurants within walking distance of the KBR to keep you busy for a few weeks, sadly we only had 9 days (loads of shops too) Will definitely return here, its a fantastic base to explore Maui as you are in the middle of the island. We went to a few other resorts on our travels, but definitely made the right decision to stay here. I would recommend to anyone especially families or small groups as its a great size. “We found paradise at Hale Mauka Makai!!” We love Hale Mauka Makai!! We were searching all over Hawaii for the perfect place, a pool, a view, land, privacy and all the amenities that make a vacation easy and memorable. Claudia was beyond knowledgable, friendly and professional. She couldn't have been better or more helpful in any way. The house is a dream. The location is perfection. Easily accessible to the town, the best beaches on the island and top notch local restaurants just down the street. I miss it all so much! The long driveway is flanked by palm trees and surrounded by organic vegetable, fruit and herb gardens and leads to the private house on a large plot of grassy land. Inside the beautifully decorated and perfectly laid out house you really feel all the stresses of life melt away. The kitchen is perfect. We cooked a lot and Bbq'ed outside on the deck overlong the gorgeous land and ocean. The breeze in the house was divine. The beds were like clouds! We even had an a/C delivered that Claudia handled so kindly and she also arranged for pick up as we never needed it once. Our mainland friends told us we would need one in the middle of august, but on the north shore, the trade winds are always blowing so no worries ever! The weather was blissful. The pool is a dream. Morning and night swimming were daily rituals along with picking guavas from the trees in the yard. There wasn't one thing I would change about our stay here. Everything was taken care of and we cannot wait to go back!! So happy we discovered this gem!

“Most wonderful local vacation rental I've stayed in.” When I first entered the house my feelings were like "Wow, this is so nice.". When Bev started telling us about everything we needed to know about the house and it's contents, I just knew we were in the right place. She has everything you need. All you need is your body and groceries to have a wonderful time. Bev leaves you to enjoy your stay. Oh, the drive up was so nice because one of the things I like most is looking at houses.

“Second to none...” We stayed in Kyle's unit (306) in late July. Although our travel plans were unexpectedly changed at the last minute because of United airlines and Tropical Storm Flossie, Kyle was very understanding and accommodating. I can vouch for everything the other reviewers have written. The setting was beautiful, and watching the surf and the surfers from the Lanai was a great way to begin and end the day as we enjoyed the spectacular sunsets. The unit was private, clean, modern, equipped with a full complement of snorkeling, boogie boards and other toys. It was also remarkably quiet (other than the sound of the surf), and the location was convenient to Kailua and conveniences. A small, friendly grocery store was located right across the street. When we return to Kona, we will not look elsewhere!

“A Home away From Home” We stayed in the 2nd floor unit. It's beautifully furnished and decorated, with all the comforts of home. We will come back and stay in this unit as often as we return to Maui. Everything you need for the beach is there, so don't use suitcase space to bring anything other than your swimsuit. The 2 weeks we were there, the trade winds weren't blowing - very unusual according to the locals. It made the unit very hot and humid without the aC. But the aC worked great, except in the bedroom. We only used the bedroom to sleep in, so it didn't ruin the charm and comfort of the unit. The location is perfect. I wouldn't stay anywhere but Kihei. We travelled all over the island, and while there are beautiful places all over Maui, Kihei is the best place to stay. Especially the area where the unit is located. It's on the edge of the beach condo neighborhood, with the resort and high end homes just to the south. The beaches are fantastic. All powder soft sand, including in the water. No need for water shoes as there are no rocks, except for the rocky area between the beaches to the north and south. The Kamaole II beach is large, so we never had any reason to go to either of the bordering beaches. From the condo to the airport clear on the other side of the island is maybe 14 miles-nothing. You do hear your neighbors though. The louvered windows throughout the complex doesn't make for a lot of privacy. You can hear your neighbors below and to the side and next to them. Though everyone is very courteous and respectful of everyone else, so it wasn't really a problem. We didn't have any children anywhere near during our stay, so depending on your attitude, it could end up being pretty noisy, or a joyful experience. Bottom line, we loved our stay on Maui, and our stay in the condo, and would live there full time (Maui & condo) if we could afford the lifestyle. You will not be disappointed, or wonder if another unit is better than this one - they just won't be.

“Amazing experience and will return here again next year!!” We want to thank you for the chance to stay at your vacation home and providing a greeter to welcome us and go over everything. This was truly a 5 star experience. You were right about staying on the ocean side "beach towers" for the sunsets. We looked around the resort and are so happy we didn't stay at the other locations. The guest room worked out perfect for my Mom as the converter you provided made a very comfortable king bed. The kitchen was state of the art just as described and those sliding doors to the wrap around balcony made it feel like Hawaii was brought inside, we couldn't get enough of it. You have everything stocked so nice and was pleased we didn't have to purchase the bare necessities. Most places don't provide even salt and pepper. We walked around to all 4 different lagoons and actually thought our Lagoon 2 was the best for snorkeling and seeing the sea life. Thanks for provided chairs, sand mats and boards. Derrick at the poolside bar was very helpful with many suggestions for when we ventured away from Ko Olina. Your next door restaurant Roy's is a must for any visitor even though we enjoyed almost every meal on our balcony lanai. One of the most impressive things about your resort is the security!! From the gated assigned parking spot in the garage, entering the pools beachside and to getting into the resort and using the elevator required a key. We felt very safe. This was not the case with the other neighboring resorts. Your home is located at the perfect place too ~ we were so close for a quick drive to North Shore or back towards Honolulu to do some shopping. As everyone probably does, we stopped at Costco after we settled in which is less than a 10 minutes drive. Thanks again and look forward to staying in touch. Janice and Mike

“Stunning Suite and Resort” My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Honua Kai. The suite was stunning and spacious with all the amenities of home. Situated on the private side of the building, we enjoyed the ocean views and sunsets from the beautiful, tranquil, lanai. An added bonus was the beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear and cooler - even the kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials. The grounds were lovely and every morning we walked the beach walk to the Whaler's Village then back to Duke's for happy hour. Jill was so friendly, accommodating and helpful with lots of advice on the resort and nearby restaurants/sights. She was always a phone call or text away. Overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing vacation and we are hoping to stay in Jill and Terry's suite when we go back this summer. Thanks for making our stay a beautiful and memorable one!

“A fabulous family home” I travelled with my family ages ranging from 88 to 3 years old. The house provided privacy for all as well as places to gather together to share time. We ate all of our meals outdoors in the most lovely cabana. The pool and tub provided endless entertainment. We had everything we needed and more. It was the trip of a lifetime to have the opportunity to all be together.
