“A once in a lifetime MUST!” There is not one part of this holiday experience that really wasn't out of this world. The staff, which seems odd to call them this, are marvellous, interesting, funny and just lovely people, the food is the best I have experienced, and I do love good food, the accommodation is absolute luxury... everything was just brilliant, including the skiing for someone who had never been before! Everything was fabulous. A true must for all, worth every penny - I would say more!

“Relaxing Few Days in Brilliant Sunshine & Snow” A wonderful and relaxing few days at Chalet Les Mures, so welcoming and warm with the addition of the log burner. Stunning views of sunny, snowy peaks and watched the skiers enjoying the excellent conditions on the slopes opposite while enjoying a glass or two in my cosy, high quality surroundings. If you are not an accomplished skier (and I am not) I can highly recommend trying out raquettes (snow shoes) as an alternative. Chalet guests get a discount from the ski shop at the bottom of the hill and as a result I had a great day and a half trying them out for a very reasonable rate. It was great to cook in the well kitted out kitchen, particularly as the town gets very busy in peak season and the restaurants were all booked out in the evening.

“Spacious luxury apartment in a great location” We stayed as a group of 6, 4 adults and 2 children our stay started the 4th Feb 2012. The chalet was well equipped, furnished to a high standard and very spacious to accomodate everyone and all the skiing equipment. My only gripe as in previous reviews was the lack of a toaster but there is an excellent bakery two doors away to buy hot crossiants etc. The shower in the ground floor bathroom was excellent to come back to after a a hard days skiing. The location of the chalet is excellent for all amenities and we hired skis from le blanc sports in the town the service we received was fantastic and we also kept our skis and boots there overnight. The 2 boys where in the ESF ski school with an english speaking instructor and the rest of our party was of mixed ability but we all found enough terrain to test our skills. We all had a fantasic time and hope to return next year.

“Great little place” Had everything we needed and a great owner to deal with. I would have liked it to be a little closer to the slopes, but hey, you can't have everything! Not too bad a walk but definitely don't try it in ski boots! Keep them at the hire shop. Make sure you hire from a shop near the slopes. Would definitely recommend this little place. Comfy sofa bed too!

“Perfect base for getting to mountains” I stayed at Clos du Savoy last summer, during a week spent climbing in the mountains around Chamonix. My experience of booking and arriving was very positive - the owner, Stephen, was very responsive and helpful in advance of arrival, even booking a transfer to and from Geneva airport for me. Arrival arrangements worked very well (i was met by one of the housekeepers, although I understand there are new arrangements in place this year which allow direct access to the apartment using a code). The apartments is basic but comfortable, with a small but well-equipped kitchen, fold-down bunk beds and a decent-sized living area. The bathroom is perfectly adequate for one or two people - it has a shower but no bath, which is fairly standard for European rental apartments in my experience. The big balcony with views up to the Aiguilles was very pleasant for sitting out in the sun. The location is absolutely perfect - a very short walk to the town centre and about a ten to fifteen minute walk from both the Brevent lift and the Aiguille du Midi cable car, but in a very quiet location. Having somewhere quiet to get a good night's sleep was very important to me, as I was having some very early morning starts, and this apartment was perfect in that respect. There are a couple of nice places to eat just across the road from the complex - a decent pizza place, nice Japanese restaurant and a very pleasant coffee shop - and it's literally just a few minutes walk to the centre of Chamonix with lots more restaurants, bars, etc. The complex in which the apartment is located is well-maintained and has a nice feel to it - seemed like a mix of tourists and local residents, and everyone I came across was friendly. I thought the apartment was extremely good value for money, and nothing was too much trouble for Stephen, the owner, who was also keen to check afterwards if everything had been OK and to get feedback on what could be improved. I've booked again for a shorter trip this July, and he was kind enough to let me book for less than a week, which was unexpected given that this is in peak summer season. In short, a perfect base for a Chamonix holiday, with a very helpful and friendly owner, and extremely good value for money. I'm looking forward to going back in July.
