“Own a Villa !!!” Yes that is exactly what I felt during my stay at Crosswinds!! Right from the time of enquiry to booking to actual stay , I felt as a privileged guest. Didn't expect this kind of professionalism from a relatively unknown name. The stay at the villa and the staff makes you forget that you don't actually own it, such is the service. The villa is excellently done and maintained. Kudos to the team. Food is the high point, with Chef Bhagat and team doling out Indian, Chinese and South Indian dishes. The kids loved it and didn't throw their usual tantrums..winner!! The concept of having the entire villa to us was amazing even with us booking only three out of the six rooms, remember what I said about feeling of owning the Villa! We had a great time and the kids had a wild run. Being securely gated we had nothing to worry regarding kids. I have to add about the location, we dont like to stay in a busy place like Mall Road and at the same time didnt want to be in the jungle. This was the perfect location being half hour from Nainital keeping us away yet near. I guess we will have a tough time deciding where to go for our next vacation cause of what we have experienced in Crosswinds. We have not got enough and we are already planning our next trip here. PS: If you are a Non-vegetarian then I would recommend their Bar-be-Que on the Deck.

“Felt like home” A owners  May 7, 2015 evitameeks I fell in love with the house and also the owners. They were very personable and made sure we were happy and if we needed anything. You are near supermarkets and we were available to cook any time on your own .Everything is there for you.The caretaker took care of us very well .They also have a menu if you choose not to cook and tell her what time to have it ready and she is a lays on time. The area was quiet and surreal.Tv and cable are featured and also a DVD player.It is located outside of Columbo about 35 min.The owners are very nice and imformative.So if you want a place to relax this the place. The pictures you see are the same as in person.It ia a beautiful new house. Fresh mango trees for your treat. I will be returning to this home.It was the perfect place so that I could plan my wedding with no interruption. I look forward to return in a couple months. “Wonderful rest and location” Due to circumstances, our usual preference for independent traveling changed; we needed peaceful, well serviced, comfortable, self-catering facilities with good access for taking trips of 1-5 days away from base. The Retreat far exceeded these needs. 'Well serviced' included (i) the daily property and pool maintenance by Prem plus the option to sit fishing with him on the jetty as the sun went down, (ii) paying extra for his wife, Sunitha, to cook one or all of our meals, learning her recipes and techniques plus joining her on the shopping for fruit and vegetable (all highly recommended), (iii) the services of Hikka Surf for anything ranging from the 5day/4night trip to Sigyria and up north to tuk-tuks for local shopping and trips. 'Comfortable?': luxurious is more appropriate for all three en-suite bedrooms, the spacious living spaces and outdoor areas; the pool is excellent. 'Self-catering': although we chose to use Sunitha's talents for breakfasts and evening meals, from which there was ample 'left-overs' for lunches, the facilities and equipment to self cater are equally as good, if not better, than many 'well-serviced, comfortable self-catering' facilities we have stayed in elsewhere. 'Peaceful?': definitely, although you either love or hate the twice daily jingle of the bakery tuk-tuk as it wends its way around the lanes on that part of the lagoon! Hikkaduwa is definitely a younger person's area but we 'oldies' (late 60's) did not feels out of place. The town has a nice 'buzz' about it, having regained its vibrancy after the losses it suffered in the Boxing Day tsunami. We both enjoy wildlife and bird-watching so were delighted with a 'garden tally' of 26 birds species plus water monitors and the ever playful palm squirrels on top of many other species, including well over 100 different birds, spotted on our various trips. We had an excellent 3 weeks holiday and The Retreat just made the whole experience special.

“Luxurious and homely at the same time!” I stayed at Villa Lula this august for a week, with my young family and my parents and we all had a brilliant time. The grounds felt really safe and secluded with amazing views of the lake. We had everything we could need in the house, and were looked after really well by Jagath and his family. They cooked us great local food, and got us anything else we needed (best deals!). My parents loved being outside in the garden, the kids loved the pool- I am still feeling the benefits of the holiday weeks later.

“A great family villa” We've just spent 10 nights in this villa with our 2 children. The website made deciding easy. The pictures show exactly what you get, a great family villa. The villa has been tastefully decorated and is very well appointed, from the furnishings to the very well manicured garden. The bedrooms are terrific - all with their own private bathrooms. This villa gives you a complete sense of relaxation and you feel safe knowing that you have staff taking care for your every need. We had a rental car during our stay in the villa, this makes it much easier to get to the beach and go out for dinner and do the necessary shopping. We were a bit dubious too as one of the other reviewers that there were only very few reviews for this villa, but our worries proved to be wrong. The communication with owner of the villa was excellent, but the communication with the local manager taking care of this property has some room for improvement in our opinion. We can highly recommend Villa Sawan.

“Returning home to paradise!” Once again my family returned to our beloved Mountain Breeze for the third year in a row and spent unplanned but always special days for two weeks in the remarkable surroundings where each year we discover a little more! I am always surprised to return and find everything the same and to share again with the local people we are so happy to see every year! The location is perfect for us as it is within cycling distance of the 'main area' but far away enough that we can feel secluded and not bothered by any of the weekend tourists! Truly a home away from home that we will look forward to returning to again next year! Thank you for making such a special place!

“Spacious, clean & very close to the beach - Great value for money.” I stayed in this apartment with my wife and our two young children (ages 1 & 3 years) for nearly 4 weeks (Jan /Feb 2015). From the first email to our final departure I can say that it has been nothing but a pleasure to stay in this apartment - Nothing was a problem. Taxis were arranged for us to/from the airport. We arrived very late and were greeted by Henk (with a smile) who helped us settle in. All the staff in the complex were very kind and gentile. The apartment is enormous (larger than most in Phuket) and well equipped. The air conditioning functions correctly but sometimes we would never use it during the day as there is a lovely breeze that passes through the place. Then there's the beach only 200 m away! Great spot for families where the kids had a chance to mix with other children from all nationalities. There's a small supermarket, juice bar (which we loved) and plenty of places to eat serving great Thai food. Often we'd get some take away and take back to the apartment but mostly we'd come straight off the beach, sit down and eat. On a general note Nai Harn is not the place to go if you want to party as it's very quiet at night and not very built up but it's really a wonderful family spot. Peter, you may want to change the main complex photo as it doesn't indicate that there is now a another block of apartments and staff quarters directly behind "The Sands". These quarters (and there enormous air conditioning units) can be a little noisy at times. Finally, thank you Peter, Henk and everyone who made our holiday so memorable. Kind regards. Simon.

“:)” Carpe Diem was better than expected for most of the things. The cottage is tastefully designed & decorated, more than sufficiently spacious, equipped with a kitchen. A large balcony (+ a rooftop seating area) boast a wide panoramic view of the beautiful hills topped with clouds. Perhaps this is the best thing about staying in this cottage. Mr. Prakash, the manager and the cab driver (Mr. Ablish, who also doubled as a guide) were friendly and helpful people. The cottage is located far from the main city which makes it a peaceful habitat. However, if you are a foodie and looking for variety, you'd need to travel to the main city (there is a decent restaurant in the campus, though). The campus (where the cottage is located) - has a variety of flora and fauna - including tea gardens and 2 rounds of the campus would constitute a trek in itself ;) The place is not suitable for people which locomotive disabilities.

“This is the place where you should go !” This beautiful villa on the top of Baan Thai Surin Hill was our home during the holidays...better we could't choose ! We have feel like home, started the day with the breakfest next to the pool with ocean veiw...the staff was very helpfull and profesional , enjoyed massage and sauna in the lovely spa outdoor...very comfortable 5 bedrooms, all details are made with many style and love...I can recomend it for cuples as for a groups or family with childern. This villa is just perfect !!! The wonderful Surin beach is only 800 meters away...to the airport and Phuket town only 20 min drive. The booking direct with the owner very profesional and easy...I can only say we will come back for sure and recomend to other peoples...!!!

“Perfect for the family” We arrived reasonably late, Herriot kindly arranged for our pick-up & drop-off. Check-in was breezy! It was bigger than we expected (which is never an issue!) 3 bedrooms and a living room with the pool & a bit of a garden separating them. We were a family of 6 adults and 1 toddler, this villa was a great size for us, in fact it can easily accommodate a slightly bigger group. Having the pool just right at our door step was a bonus especially after being out on a humid day. For families with wandering toddler, be mindful of the pool being just there. We didn't have any issues with Eian who is 2.7 years. We explained the pool rules to him so every time he wanted to swim he would announce it rather loudly :-). The courtyard is such a great place to chill, we spent quite a bit of time by the pool chatting and reading. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable - with plenty of towels to last us for weeks. Our room had a slight damp smell to it probably due to it not being used for a while, 2 other rooms and living room was fine. The kitchen was sufficient for cooking and there's also washing machine, tv etc - it was just like staying in a house. Some of the kitchen utensils needed to be washed before we used it due to grease but that was easily sorted. They cleaned the pool once when we were there and the garden was well kept too. There's always someone at the office to help with tours/car rental ( even on Sundays). We rented a car on our last day there with the help of the office and also hired a driver. Pisit was warm and very patient with our 'wants', even waited when we shopped at Tesco! and when he couldn't accommodate to our requests he would always find an alternative driver for us. The location of the villa is convenient as it is fairly central, it depends on what the group wants to do of course. It's about 40 mins to even the furthest part of Phuket. The next time we travel in a group to Phuket - we would definitely look into renting Jah Villa again!!

After passing the pool and a beautiful covered resting area you use a lightly curved bridge over a coy pond to enter the Villa. This Villa is located within a big garden, adjacent to a swimming pool, a grassy area, flowers and literally steps away from a beautiful, clean and quiet sandy beach for swimming and walking. Opposite the Villa, a coral reef invites you to snorkel and observe colorful fish. Lounge chairs and fresh towls are always provided. 3 bedrooms (TV, fans, AC) four-poster-beds, mosquito-nets, antique furniture, modern bathrooms - beautiful sink areas - always hot water - , fresh towls, shampoo and bathgels. One has a pool-garden-view, two have a garden/ocean-view and access to the deck. Inside and outside covered sitting-areas - including dining - w/ garden-ocean view. Staff is magnificent: they can arrange for everything (rental car, bicycles, boats, fishing, tours etc.) Laundry can be taken care of. Chef and his crew outstanding: the whole time such delicacies were created, that we never even got the idea of going out to eat somewhere else. Excursions: two National Parks "Uda Walawe" and "Yala" are not too far, teaplantations, Galle with its beautiful Fort and shopping in the city, a lake, other beaches and bays are nearby --- no nightlife.
