“beautiful villa with helpful owner and property manager” Serenity 2 is a fantastic villa and perfect for what we were looking for. As a group of 10 friends looking for a relaxing Summer holiday in the sun, we couldn't have asked for more.
From first getting in touch with the owner, she was incredibly helpful - sending over helpful information, arranging transfers and helping one of our party who was arriving separately.
The villa itself is near perfect. The photos give a good representation of what to expect but really have to see it to appreciate it. I don't think I can add much more than what others have said here - it really is a great place to stay and it could often be hard to drag ourselves away and into town.
Billy, the property manager in Kalkan was more than helpful. He really couldn't do enough to help us - bringing water, giving reccommendations and even giving us a lift in his car. Nothing was too much trouble and his help made a massive difference.
The only real negative for some people could be the distance from town. It's a good 20 minute walk, even at a realtively brisk pace. With the villa being set quite a way up a hill, it'd take even longer to walk back up! We resorted to taxis every time - they're relatively inexpensive though so it's not too bad.
All in all, a wonderful experience. Highly reccommended and really good value too.
“Amazing Holiday, would go back in a heartbeat” Beautiful well maintained Villa. Perfect location. Friendly atmosphere in the restaurants in Town which is a short walk. The villa itself has everything we needed as a family, from washing machine to microwave!! Private pool was lovely as it provided privacy.
“Amazing!!!” Villa Serenity is absolutely breathtaking. Each room is pristinely clean and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms all have massive glass picture windows that overlook the pool and jacuzzi and the amazing view of Kalkan. If i could have stayed forever i would have.
I have visited a number of villas surrounding Kalkan and this surppased them all. A perfect holiday home.
“Kalkan Retreat - a great getaway” I have visited Kalkan Retreat twice now. Once in May 2011 and after a very enjoyable time in excellent accommodation I decided to return again in May 2013. I went with a group of friends and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. My room had the most beautiful view out over the ocean with a small balcony with a chair and table to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The quality of the bed and bed linen was excellent. Very soft and comfortable.
There were 3 bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom was huge with views over the ocean as well. Downstairs was another bedroom overlooking the infinity pool also with an ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge furniture was high quality and very comfortable facing the outside patio with the ocean in the distance. Around the pool were sun lounges for us all. There were also different outside areas. Little nooks for curling up and reading a book in the sun or sitting around in the BBQ area. A tennis table was the scene of many a competitive game. The cleaning staff did a great job being very discreet.
We loved the restaurants and shops in Kalkan. The food was excellent and the local people very friendly. I bought handbags, silver jewellery and clothes. We also had a fantastic Turkish Bath, massage and clay mask in one of the local massage parlours.
All in all I just love this part of the world and staying at Kalkan Retreat is so comfortable and easy.
“An absolute gem!” We travelled as a family group: myself, two daughters and their husband/partner and my 3 year old grandson. The whole booking process was so easy and Stuart, the owner, was so helpful and answered all queries courteously and promptly, and arranged our transfers to and from Dalaman airport.
The villa was in an ideal location, in a quiet area, a pleasant walk from the town, although we did indulge in taxis back as it was so hot.
The pool was stunning, and deep enough for the boys to dive in safely and much fun was had in retrieving items from the bottom. The childrens pool was perfect for my Grandson, although he did come in the 'big boys pool' due to the easy access via the steps and enjoyed it immensely.
Kalkan itself is an ideal destination with many excellent restaurants and lovely shops and the locals are very friendly and cannot do enough for you.
The villa was so well equiped we lacked for nothing, even down to tiny details such as socket adaptors and buggies. Tracy, the manager, was brilliant and rapidly sorted a problem with internet access. The boys really appreciated the Sky Sports for the cricket and golf, and my Grandson for his favourite childrens programmes for the bedtime wind down!
I just happened to e-mail Stuart about whether there was a gate at the top of the basement steps and he arranged for this to be done prior to our arrival!! That is exemplary customer service!!
We have had a perfect holiday and we would definately come again! Book with confidence!
“Very clean and spacious apartment with great facilities and comfort.” We were very impressed with the size, cleaneness and comfort of this apartment. Not only was the main bedroom with onsuite but the other two bedrooms also, which all family members loved.
As mother it was vital for me to wash, dry and ion a few clothing i.e. towels, evening dresses etc. during the holiday. Again, all equipment were available.
A pool outside the apartment allowed us to cool down at any time of the day, nevertheless the provided aircondition in all major living- and sleeping areas helped us indoors too.
May we also point out that the communication with the owners of the property were always very polite and welcoming and a guide during our stay helpful.
Hopefully we will be back one day... The Turners x
“Lovely modern villa with pool and views close to friendly town and beaches.” We spent a very relaxing week at Moonlight Villa. Everything we needed was there and Memet (who visits daily to clean the pool) was charming and helpful at all times. The pool is perfect and there is lots of sunbathing space and shade. The villa is close to other villas and is on the unmade road but this is reflected in the price. It was boiling so we were glad of our car for popping into town as even though it is probably only a 15min walk it would be hard work on the way back up in the heat. There are loads of restaurants in Kalkan and the food shopping is very good. The Turks are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of excursions you can do if you are not too hot. We enjoyed visitng the ruins of Xanthos and Letoon and going up into the hills for dinner in Islamar. Kalkan has a fun market on Thursdays where you can buy clothing, jewellry, spices and fruit and veg.We also loved Kaputas beach. All in all we would definitely return for a relaxing, sun bathing week but maybe not in July!
“Fantastic villa, views..everything! Best holiday we have every been on!” In a nutshell:
This was the most fantastic villa, with the most breathtaking views, in a wonderful area, which gave us (3 couples in their twenties) the best experience of our lives!
We felt so sad to leave and were immediately working out when we could return.
The villa is amazing value for money and is of a high standard - the infinity pool is unbeatable!
The whole area of Kalkan is beautiful and the people are so lovely and welcoming, with a range of places to eat and drink (and dance!); we are hoping to return asap!
“Superb!” Our first visit to Turkey and we were not disappointed. A beautiful country with lovely people only made better by our superb accommodation.
This fabulous and roomy villa is very much a home from home with every available convenience. The very large master bedroom with its own bathroom both of which have magnificent views of the bay of Kalkan was a joy to wake up in. Sitting around the pool surrounded by the lovely gardens was relaxation personified. The weather in early June was perfect for us – hot enough to enjoy dipping in and out of the pool but not so hot to make it uncomfortable.
Kalkan itself, a mere 10-15 minutes stroll away, has an abundance of restaurants to choose from – I think you could go to a different one every evening for a year. Each of the ones we chose was excellent with the staff taking the utmost care of my elderly mother. The trip in the “taxi” up to the hilltop restaurant was an experience and certainly provided an interesting tale to tell back home.
My teenage daughter is hankering to return next year for two weeks. I can understand how she feels. We will definitely be returning!
“Perfect Villa, wonderful location” Villa was perfect. Every detail has been thought for pleasure of guests. View was great. We enjoyed a lot in the pool. Rooms are big and comfortable. Customer service was great.
I would like to note one thing: you can go to town center and beach by walking down 10-15 minutes but coming back by walking is quite challenging due to hill.
“Top quality villa with the most wonderful views” We were looking for luxury and we certainly got it at Villa Beluga . Six of us stayed here for 2 weeks and initially found it rather difficult to leave as the villa and pool were so beautiful . The villa is so spacious, with every bedroom and bathroom in a spotless condition. We drew straws for bedroom allocation, no one being disappointed . Even the bedroom in the basement was spacious, cool and dark which was very pleasant. The bedroom looking over the pool is absolutely beautiful. The location is great , with Kalkan a short 20 minute walk away, or quick water taxi or taxi ride. The unexpected bonus was that the 2 small shops in Kisla had such good fruit and vegetables, melons even being delivered free from Bob's Supermarket. We also enjoyed eating out in Kisla at the barbecue evening and at Bob's on several occasions - the best fish ever.
All arrangements with Nick and Jilly were prompt and once at the villa Tamer and Hasan were always on hand.
“A brilliant family holiday and amazing villa” We had a fantastic time staying at Villa Iris. It was everything that Huw and Sharon promised it would be and more. The views are stunning, the villa is large, clean and really well presented. We have had a few villa holidays before and this was the best villa by far.
The pool is where the kids spent most of their time and it is ideal for a family.
Patara beach is amazing and one of the best we've ever been lucky enough to visit. It does get busy near the cafe during the day but later in the afternoon, or slightly away from the cafe, there is miles of space and shallow safe swimming.
Kalkan itself is a wonderful town with over 200 restaurants. We ate mostly by the harbour where the views are lovely. We found every restaurant to be friendly and the food good.
