“Kalkan Retreat - a great getaway” I have visited Kalkan Retreat twice now. Once in May 2011 and after a very enjoyable time in excellent accommodation I decided to return again in May 2013. I went with a group of friends and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. My room had the most beautiful view out over the ocean with a small balcony with a chair and table to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The quality of the bed and bed linen was excellent. Very soft and comfortable.
There were 3 bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom was huge with views over the ocean as well. Downstairs was another bedroom overlooking the infinity pool also with an ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge furniture was high quality and very comfortable facing the outside patio with the ocean in the distance. Around the pool were sun lounges for us all. There were also different outside areas. Little nooks for curling up and reading a book in the sun or sitting around in the BBQ area. A tennis table was the scene of many a competitive game. The cleaning staff did a great job being very discreet.
We loved the restaurants and shops in Kalkan. The food was excellent and the local people very friendly. I bought handbags, silver jewellery and clothes. We also had a fantastic Turkish Bath, massage and clay mask in one of the local massage parlours.
All in all I just love this part of the world and staying at Kalkan Retreat is so comfortable and easy.
“Amazing Holiday, would go back in a heartbeat” Beautiful well maintained Villa. Perfect location. Friendly atmosphere in the restaurants in Town which is a short walk. The villa itself has everything we needed as a family, from washing machine to microwave!! Private pool was lovely as it provided privacy.
“An absolute gem!” We travelled as a family group: myself, two daughters and their husband/partner and my 3 year old grandson. The whole booking process was so easy and Stuart, the owner, was so helpful and answered all queries courteously and promptly, and arranged our transfers to and from Dalaman airport.
The villa was in an ideal location, in a quiet area, a pleasant walk from the town, although we did indulge in taxis back as it was so hot.
The pool was stunning, and deep enough for the boys to dive in safely and much fun was had in retrieving items from the bottom. The childrens pool was perfect for my Grandson, although he did come in the 'big boys pool' due to the easy access via the steps and enjoyed it immensely.
Kalkan itself is an ideal destination with many excellent restaurants and lovely shops and the locals are very friendly and cannot do enough for you.
The villa was so well equiped we lacked for nothing, even down to tiny details such as socket adaptors and buggies. Tracy, the manager, was brilliant and rapidly sorted a problem with internet access. The boys really appreciated the Sky Sports for the cricket and golf, and my Grandson for his favourite childrens programmes for the bedtime wind down!
I just happened to e-mail Stuart about whether there was a gate at the top of the basement steps and he arranged for this to be done prior to our arrival!! That is exemplary customer service!!
We have had a perfect holiday and we would definately come again! Book with confidence!
“Lovely modern villa with pool and views close to friendly town and beaches.” We spent a very relaxing week at Moonlight Villa. Everything we needed was there and Memet (who visits daily to clean the pool) was charming and helpful at all times. The pool is perfect and there is lots of sunbathing space and shade. The villa is close to other villas and is on the unmade road but this is reflected in the price. It was boiling so we were glad of our car for popping into town as even though it is probably only a 15min walk it would be hard work on the way back up in the heat. There are loads of restaurants in Kalkan and the food shopping is very good. The Turks are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of excursions you can do if you are not too hot. We enjoyed visitng the ruins of Xanthos and Letoon and going up into the hills for dinner in Islamar. Kalkan has a fun market on Thursdays where you can buy clothing, jewellry, spices and fruit and veg.We also loved Kaputas beach. All in all we would definitely return for a relaxing, sun bathing week but maybe not in July!
“Amazing!!!” Villa Serenity is absolutely breathtaking. Each room is pristinely clean and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms all have massive glass picture windows that overlook the pool and jacuzzi and the amazing view of Kalkan. If i could have stayed forever i would have.
I have visited a number of villas surrounding Kalkan and this surppased them all. A perfect holiday home.
“Fantastic villa, views..everything! Best holiday we have every been on!” In a nutshell:
This was the most fantastic villa, with the most breathtaking views, in a wonderful area, which gave us (3 couples in their twenties) the best experience of our lives!
We felt so sad to leave and were immediately working out when we could return.
The villa is amazing value for money and is of a high standard - the infinity pool is unbeatable!
The whole area of Kalkan is beautiful and the people are so lovely and welcoming, with a range of places to eat and drink (and dance!); we are hoping to return asap!
“Absolutely beautiful!” A beautiful, well equipped and tastefully designed villa with stunning views. Our first visit to Kalkan could not have been better! A cool, comfortable, elegant villa, a beautiful bay and a charming town.
“Perfect Villa, wonderful location” Villa was perfect. Every detail has been thought for pleasure of guests. View was great. We enjoyed a lot in the pool. Rooms are big and comfortable. Customer service was great.
I would like to note one thing: you can go to town center and beach by walking down 10-15 minutes but coming back by walking is quite challenging due to hill.
“A beautiful villa, perfect for a family holiday.” We had a great week in villa Gül. Villa was just what we expected, perhaps even more.
High vegetation around the garden and the pool, providing full privacy and beauty of colorful flowers, just perfect for a family holiday.
The swimming pool is very large, comfortable and relaxing. Most of the time we were at the pool. We especially enjoyed swimming at night, under plenty of lights around it. At the evening hours we enjoyed our tea and coffee on the roof terrace, where the view over the city and coastline is beautiful.
Kalkan is a fantastic little harbour town, which offers an amazing choice of restaurants serving some excellent food.
Kalkan beach is a short walk away down from the villa, but the walk back up can be quite strenuous, so you need to use Taxis to return from the beach, they are not expensive and always available.
I would definitely recommend this villa/location to anyone.
“Glorious views, great location, excellent restaurants” My wife and I chose this villa from the photo on the website and we weren't disappointed. Everything from being met at the airport by Ahmet (arranged by Steve and Lynn) to the wonderful layout and position of the villa and the great choice of restaurants recommended by Steve and Lynn.
The weather always makes a difference and it was great so we could take full advantage of the pools on site - infinity pool at the top gives wonderful views while the adult pool near the sea is a welcome retreat from the kids. We tried many of the restaurants suggested and also the hotel near the villa gives a 25% discount in it's restaurant and bars. One restaurant's service was so good they even went to the trouble of picking us up (Adam's) whilst Aubergine was probably our favourite for international food at reasonable prices. The villa itself had everything we needed with plenty of space and the views were as shown on the photos. A tip is that the hotel run a boat to the town and any orders for food etc at the supermarkets will be delivered to the villa free of charge. Hotel restaurants also do take-aways if you want them
We'd happily recommend this place and hope to return one day. Many thanks to Steve and Lynn for their help
“a great spot to chill out and enjoy a fantastic view with all the comforts of home” Great villa, spent most of the fortnight by the pool sipping cool drinks & enjoying the views.July was over 40 degrees every day so swimming and lounging were all you could do in the day. Surrounding area has many archeological places of interest. Villa overlooks Kalkan village nestled between mountains and the coast and all the local restaurants were top notch (steaks and fresh fish particularly good)!
“Holiday heaven, did not won't to come home.” Beautiful villa, excellent views, It felt like being at home. We were so comfortable and relaxed. Having never experienced a villa holiday before I can quite honestly say I would be quite reluctant to go to a hotel again. We loved it so much we have booked it again for next year. Kalkan is a lovely town, restaurants galore and very friendly people. The villa is sited on a hill so you get a lovely breeze from the sea. The pool is gorgeous, the feeling of privacy is excellent. The villa has a lovely little landscaped garden and all mod cons, so staying in is just as nice as going out. Although we did not go afar, we did go to Patara beach just 15 mins away which was lovely. There are lots of excursions that are easily arranged by yourselves in the town itself. Local beach clubs are a short boat ride away. The transfer which the villa owner arranged for us was very reasonable, comfortable and on time on arrival and return.
Kalkan and Villa Limon know how to take care of its guests!
“Perfect Holiday Home” Beautiful penthouse which has refurbished to a very high standard. The owners provide everything you require to have a worry free holiday. A welcome pack is included on arrival, and also other goodies around the property. The property is located near to the entrance of the Patara Prince resort which we preferred as it gave us easy access to walking to Kalkan, about 15 mins walk, although a taxi can be arranged via gatehouse. The resort has 3 good swimming pools and good access to the sea via swimming platforms. A minibus operates around the resort if the hills and steps are too much.
The penthouse had a mid stay clean where fresh bedding and towels, including beach towels, were provided. The penthouse has access to the internet with a router in the bedroom.
There is a large balcony with 2 sun loungers and seating for 4 people. The views from the balcony are spectacular overlooking the bay of Kalkan. Daytime views include watching the many boat trips leaving the harbour, and nighttime views where you can see the town light up.There is also a smaller balcony out of the bedroom door. We chose to eat out most nights but the penthouse has a very good equipped kitchen if you prefer to eat in. There is also a bbq on the balcony.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
“Great Villa” We have recently returned from our holiday and we all had a fantastic time. Kalkan was a great destination and we will definitely go back. The villa was the perfect accommodation for our large group of 8. The views were fab and it has a perfect location to get the sun until it went down, having 3 levels meant you could always sit in the sun. I would book the villa again, already thinking about the next trip!
