Set deep within the Vienne Countryside, boasting two acres of enclosed gardens its location is idyllic, and within easy reach of local amenities.
Family run with children of our own that love to have new friends to show around and play with. You can enjoy the tranquillity of your private terrace or engage in a night to remember with our communal BBQs and let the kids run off their energy.
We have a self catering Gite that was formally one of two traditional Poitou Charente style stone built farm cottages but has been comfortably modernised (refurbished 2023) whilst keeping many of the original features including oak floor boards, stairs and exposed beams. The Gite has a living/dining room area with a fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor. Two bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. It also has a private outside covered patio/barbecue area as well as the large garden shared with ourselves. A separate laundry room is available for guests to use with a washing machine and a washing line out the front to hang your things to dry. We provide a welcome pack of basic essentials to get you started. However, if like me shopping is last on your holiday list of to do's on arrival... we can arrange a larger shop so the immediate hassle is lifted (by arrangement and with a small extra fee). We also provide all bedding, towels and tea towels. Our holiday cottage can accommodate up to seven people over two bedrooms. The cottage comprises of 2 sets of bunks (one has a double bed on the bottom) in one room and a double bed in the master bedroom. Baby equipment such as a cot, highchair or push chair is available on request.
Alrhough we do not have air conditioning, the cottage is very well insulated and due to the thick stone walls is the perfect place to go to cool down away from the summer sun.
Guests have the full use of all the grounds which are fully fenced and cover 2 acres. There is also a separate games room with board games and cards supplied within the Gite.
There is plenty to do in the area including visits to Futuroscope, the Valley of the Monkeys, Cognac, La Rochelle and the beaches, the Marais Poitevin etc. The area also offers lots of outdoor activities such as canoeing, walking, cycling, rock climbing, tree climbing, caving, fishing, horse riding etc.
