Stoney River Cabin is a private vacation rental retreat located in a small residential community near Lake James in Pisgah National Forest perfect for couples or small families who love the outdoors. We are just 2 miles by road from the Linville public boat access. The cabin is at the foot of the Linville Gorge, home to beautiful views and fantastic hiking. This is a perfect get-away for those looking for those looking to seriously explore the great outdoors in a rustic, not too fancy setting with modern conveniences including a really great shower!

Our street is on the Pisgah Loop Scenic Byway, & close to Table Rock and Hawksbill mountains, Linville Falls, the Linville Gorge, and an hour from the city of Asheville. Local Attractions: Linville Gorge and water falls, local winery Ssilcer Fork, Stone Mountain State Park-mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, 3,000 foot waterfalls, Lake James State Park-only 10 minutes away with hiking, swimming and boating. The Fonta Flora trail is just outside our door.

The cabin is fully furnished and has hardwood floors, a living room with a wood burning fireplace, two bedrooms, a den with satellite TV, a DVD & CD player, one full bath, screened porch area, and a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and coffeemaker. We offer wi-fi satellite internet access. Cabin sleeps up to 4 with a full sized bed in one bedroom/ Queen in the second bedroom and a cot you can set up in the livingroom for one more. There is a campfire circle just outside.

clean and fun cabin by river and hiking

Great weekend get away to hike and then relax by the river. The cabin was very clean and close by to parks as well as various areas to hike with some great views of the area.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joanne (the owner) a message.

If Joanne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
