Gîte Le Colvert is part of the 'Le Cormier' holiday facility which is close to the popular medieval town of Loches and is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Obterre (has a bar and small shop) on the northern tip of the beautiful 'Brenne Parc Naturel Regional', known as the “Land of a Thousand Lakes” - the whole area is quite simply a wildlife and bird-watchers paradise in this relatively unspoilt area of the Berry / South Touraine area of the Loire Valley.

It is very easy to relax in this tranquil and peaceful setting, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and trees but with many local attractions to keep you occupied. We are ideally located for the famous chateaux of the Loire, vineyards (closest 9km), churches, museums, Futuroscope and, of course, surrounded by sleepy medieval towns. The rolling landscape makes it an ideal locality for cycling and walking enthusiasts alike.

We welcome children although would point out there are limited on-site facilities to keep them fully occupied.

The 5m above ground splash pool is shared with all visitors, including some of our small 12 pitch campsite visitors as well.

Le Colvert has an open plan living area comprising kitchen, dining area and lounge.

The fitted kitchen is finished in real oak, having spacious wall units and cupboard space, under cabinet lighting, 2 ring gas hob, small electric oven, microwave, refridgerator, electric kettle, cups, saucers, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans along with coffee maker and toaster.

The large real wood dining table & benches can comfortably seat up to 8 people and the adjoining lounge area has a 2 seater settee, a double bed-settee/sofa, electric convector heaters for those chilly nights, TV (via UK terrestrial channel satellite box), DVD player and Radio/CD/Cassette music system.

Modernised downstairs toilet and shower area with suspended toilet, wash hand basin/vanity unit & large mirror, plus an electric heated towel rail.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms - the main bedroom/sleeping area has one double bed and another double bed-settee/sofa, bedside cabinets, table lamps, chest of drawers and open clothes rail & rack. Additional ventilation can be provided by the integrated ceiling light & fan with natural light provided by a velux window (with blind) and dormer window.

The 2nd bedroom has a single bed (an additional single bed is also available) or this can be replaced with a double bed-settee if preferred, a Velux window with blind, open clothes rail & rack and an adjoining toilet with wash hand basin.

The stairs are steep which is typical of this type of property, so special care needs to be taken especially by youngsters.

Visitors receive a welcome pack containing local information, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, washing up liquid etc. (plus a bottle of wine when staying 7 nights or more).

If Mike (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
