“The Perfect Bali Experience” This is a small (1 bedroom upstairs plus a second bed downstairs), beautifully laid out house with a plunge pool. It is situated in the Penestanan rice fields about 20 minutes walk out of Ubud and up a little. There are no cars or motorbikes so it is as quiet as one can imagine. We were close to 4 different, local and charming restaurant and enjoyed them all, plus a an excellent yoga studio. Barbara and Henry were most helpful and informative as was the housekeeper, Dayu who made us the wonderful breakfasts. We would gladly stay here again and will recommend the house to all we know.

“A dream!” Villa Kanti is truly a dream! The grounds were clean and beautiful and the amenities were everything you needed and more. We chose Villa Kanti for an intimate wedding and vacation for our family of 9. The location is a little tucked away which met our needs. However, if you need to travel around Ubud, the Villa provides a driver or additional drivers if needed. The best part of our stay was the service, the entire team was friendly and accommodating to our needs and wants.

“Villa in Paradise” We stayed at Hillside for one month in aug/Sept 2011. The villa is very large and is approx. 40 minutes drive north of Ubud near a small village. Our driver ariana and the other staff really made us feel very welcome and it quickly became our second home. Be aware that it is in a rural area and the access road to the villa is very rough so you may want to limit your travels outside the villa or rent a motor bike for easier access. As we did. The villa is well set up and has a beautiful pool although during the time we were there it was too cold to use. Be prepared this area can get chilly at night during this time of the year. The gardens around the villa are beautiful. The neighbouring forests are magnificent and you can spend days sitting on the terraces just watching the local farmers tend their rice paddies. Ubud is a mecca for great cafes and lovely restaurants. We fell in love with Ubud and the people of the region. We would recommend Hilsside Eden to anyone who wants peace and quiet in a beautiful garden setting and is okay with a 40 minute drive to town.

“A tranquil escape and ancient energy” The villa is set near the top of a massive valley, on the edge of a heritage park. So peaceful and beautiful, with a walkway down to the old part of the village temple. You can feel the ancient energy in this sacred place. You will hear and see beautiful birds in the valley from the deck, pool and shower... and probably cross paths with a lot of the locals or kids who will be going to and from the temple spring to fill their water bottles. The villa itself is very private and spacious. With plenty of different living and relaxation space for the family and kids. It is on a steep site but we had no trouble with our 2 year old. It's a fair mission to get here, but worth it to be up in the highlands for fresh air and quiet. Not so far to go back into Ubud for dinner or shopping trips. I started to skips these in favour of hanging by the pool! We had excellent breakfasts from the crew and lots of help wrangling our toddler! Recommend:- * Use their driver Ketut for trips to Ubud and around. He is local and knows where and what everything is, also super helpful with children and luggage ! * Dinner at Casa Luna/Indus, good desert! * Walk down to the village temple and up to the new temple and around the rice paddies – can be 20 minutes or 1 hour, ask! Wayan to guide you, he was a good protector from dogs and ducks! Visit the Pejeng Moon temple, ask the staff about this. It is a treasure of Bali.
