“Amazing Villa in a Stunning Location” For the sake of full disclosure, I should acknowledge that the guy who owns this place is a friend of mine, so I'm naturally well-disposed towards him.
That, however, doesn't detract from Harvest Moon's quality. It. Is. Stunning. The spacious, open-plan ground floor is built for lounging, with a huge sofa and numerous laze-inducing chairs.
The main bedroom overlooks peaceful rice fields, offering a truly gorgeous view of the sunset. The kitchen is fully-appointed and beautifully designed, although the preponderance of good, reasonably-priced food in Ubud sometimes threatens to render it superfluous.
The outside space is what really makes Harvest Moon special, however. The deck invites play, yoga, or simply gazing in wonder at the natural beauty of Bali. The private pool entices whenever temperatures necessitate a little cooling off, or circumstances call for some cheeky skinny-dipping. There's even a balé for giving and receiving massages or, at night, al fresco sleeping.
Just in case all that's not enough, there's another, much larger pool at the front of the villa, and a first-floor bedroom as lovely as the ground floor.
“the villa exceeded expectations” the location was great. We could walk down to the resturants and markets within a few minutes. The villa itself exceeded all our expectations it was absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail gorgeous. The staff were so helpful but discreet and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a real treat. My sisters and I all rate this villa 10/10 and will definately return . .
“Peaceful and relaxing stay!” We (my husband and 2 boys aged 5 and 3) stayed at Swallow Guesthouse for a week in Feb 2013, and really enjoyed the views of the rice fields, farmer planting rice, ploughing the fields, and farmers chasing the ducks, and lots more sights of a rural life - cows mooing, roosters crowing (sometimes throughout the day, sometimes in the nights!!!), frogs singing. There is so much "music" at night that I could not really sleep well first night, but its something I missed when back home. We had Wayan drive us around, and my sons adore him! We had Putri cook a delicious meal.
The house is awesome, lots of room to run around, a pond terrace with lotus.
Do note, must bring super power torch lights, if you come back late from a tour, its pitch dark, with the moon as the main light, you need it to walk the 400 steps path to reach the house.
Its just sad that a week stay is short but we alternate between going out and just relaxing at home, cooking simple meals in the kitchen, because you mustn't miss having your meals in the "bale" above the kitchen, a view to take in, 360 degrees of green!
“Absolutely awesome place to vacation in style!” Absolutely recommend you stay at this villa. The accommodation is excellent, from the time you enter the villa to the time you leave you feel like you have your own little piece of paradise. The price for the accommodation is very very reasonable and you are close to the city centre and in the other direction you can visit the young artists all the whole seeing beautiful temples, bridges etc.
