“Lovely apartment, well appointed and a great location” 26 Place St Leonard is tucked away on a road very close to the centre of Honfleur (only 5 minutes). Communication from the owner (Didier) was excellent, and seamless. Payments and refunds were achieved through Paypal, which made the whole process super easy. The apartment is charming, with beams and wood in abundance, and has been decorated and furnished with sympathy to its Norman origins, and a nod to practical modernity, with all conveniences you could hope for (including a superbly equipped kitchen and a high end AV system). The location is ideal, a short walk to the shops and the harbour of Honfleur. nearby is a first class butcher, and an excellent boulangerie (try the Escargot Praline- heavenly!). It is important to know that the apartment is at the top of several flights of narrow, twisting stairs, and therefore unsuitable for the infirm or those with a physically limiting disability. The sleeping accomodation is very comfortable, with a large double in one room, and two singles in the other. This brings me to the only challenge we faced- the upstairs twin room is open to the staircase, and this was a problem for our 4-year old, who found it hard to get to sleep with us downstairs making noise. We eventually took to watching DVDs on our laptop in bed until he was asleep! So, may not be a problem for you, but something to be aware of. All in all, a lovely place to stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
