Le Clos is a delightful house situated in a secluded area of the village of Fleury, a few minutes drive from the lively town of Villedieu-les-Poêles and approximately 30 minutes drive from many lovely, sandy beaches. The perfect setting to unwind with a glass of wine or local cider - a bottle of each is in the fridge waiting for you!
The house is easily accessible from ferry and airports and provides a perfect base for exploring the best of rural, coastal and historic Normandy or taking a trip to the Channel Islands.

About this location
The Basse-Normandie region
We stay in the village several times during the year to visit family and friends and love visiting the area. This area of Normandy has much to offer visitors of all interests. In the immediate area, picturesque Villedieu-les-Poêles produces renowned copperware and has a lively market every Tuesday which attracts shoppers from the surrounding villages. It has many authentic copper workshops, a bell foundry, lace museum, Norman furniture museum, several restaurants, an interesting maze of alleyways to explore and an indoor fun pool. There are also English speaking Estate Agents if you are interested in investing in your own holiday accommodation! The village of Champrépus, a couple of miles away, has a fascinating zoo for animal lovers of all ages. There are numerous possibilities to taste cheese, cider or calvados in the area. There are also many tempting restaurants nearby and numerous brocantes and depôts ventes if you are interested in antiques or picking up a bargain! You will find a folder within the cottage which includes leaflets on a range of local tourist attractions including horse riding and golf.

“As lovers of wildlife and countryside, a lovely rural setting – cows grazing, jays collecting acorns, red squirrel burying hazel nuts. Wild flowers still present in hedgerows alongside blackberries picked for dessert. All this along with an Indian summer – what more could you want!”

“A really beautiful and peaceful location! We loved eating outside in the evenings with just the sound of nature to accompany the sun set. A relaxing house with a really homely feel and very nicely furnished. We loved exploring the coast around Granville and the market in Villedieu.”

"This beautiful, recently renovated property provides all modern facilities in a traditional French style setting. The surrounding countryside provides a haven for wild flowers, animals and birds. Within ten minutes drive the local town offers a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops whilst nearby Granville offers an excellent beach, safe swimming, sports facilities and interesting places to explore."

A lovely cottage – lots of great touches. Villedieu was brilliant on market day! Our favourite beach was just north of Granville – Coudeville plage.
Had an exceptional time and loved Le Clos!
We are seriously thinking about coming back next year – thank you!
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Clos! It has really been sympathetically renovated and tastefully furnished throughout for a real feel of comfort and homeliness. It was fantastic to have so much space to roam on the grounds set in such a beautiful rural location. We felt a million miles from anywhere yet we enjoyed Villedieu and the beautiful coast both an easy drive away. Thank you for making us feel so welcome in your home – we had a wonderful time and look forward to another visit."
Matt, Penny and Thea Bignell
A beautiful home to stay in and a lovely part of the country to visit. Plenty to do and not enough time to fit it all in!
GH, Worksop, Notts
"A very enjoyable week in a spacious, warm and comfortable cottage. We
enjoyed memorable days at Bayeux and Arromanches and the moules,
camembert, crêpes and cidre were also impressive. Rona, aged 20 months,
loved the zoo at Champrépus and the "moo cows" outside the house were an added bonus for her"
The Brockington Family
"A wonderfully secluded gite, set in quiet surroundings but within easy reach of all the main sights. Furnished to a good standard, ample cooking equipment provided. Little touches like soap and toilet rolls meant we didn't have to spend on basic essentials. We spent a very comfortable, relaxed week in the gite and were genuinely sorry to leave at the end, we had felt so at home. The two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet made it particularly suitable to our needs - two adult couples sharing a house! Admin. was very good and it was reassuring to be able to speak to you on the phone or by email as necessary".
Mr and Mrs Mathews and Morris
We had an excellent holiday and thank you for returning our deposit so quickly.

"Living the French lifestyle in a Normandy country cottage"
Drive down the laneway to Le Clos past the grazing cattle and you will fall in love with this beautiful Normandy cottage. A very warm cosy cottage, and very quiet with only the breeze making a noise. A drive into the nearby village of Villedieu will get you all the wonderful French food you can buy, and do not miss the street market on a Tuesday. From here we visited Mont St MIchel, Bayeux and the famous tapestry, and the Normandy beaches. And do not miss the oysters at Cancale. Having driven across France for a while before we arrived at Le Clos for a week's stay, it gave us a chance to relax and recover. There were only the two of us, but the cottage is ideal for a family as well. Very much recommended.

It was a last minute booking with a bit of complications, but the owner could not have been more helpful and hospitable. We were looking for a country get-away and that is exactly what we got. The gite is located in a very private setting in the middle of bucolic serenity, and the locals we met were friendly and just lovely as well. The house is well-equipped and very clean. The house is actually a new construction and therefore perhaps lacks characters if that is what one is after, but the newness certainly makes the stay more comfortable. Recommended.

"Bliss in the French countryside"
This is the nicest house we have had the pleasure to rent. Arriving at the house, you drive up a long rural drive and the house is set in an acre of garden, beautifully quiet and secluded. My husband and I rented this large family home and we enjoyed rattling around in it ourselves; equally it would be very suitable for a large family or two couples. This is a very spacious, well appointed house, with everything provided that you can ever need (and even more).
The location of the house is just perfect, an easy walk/cycle ride to the local bakery and a short car journey to the nearest town which has a very good selection of shops and restaurants.

"A real find - the best gite we have stayed in during the last 15 years!"
Le Clos is easily the best gite we have stayed in during the last 15 years. Friendly, helpful owners and the cottage far exceeded our expectations.
We stayed with our daughter, her husband and their two girls and it fulfilled all our requirements. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and within easy reach of the coast, Mont St Michel etc..
We have no hesitation in recommending - you can hire with confidence and will not be disappointed!
