The apartment on the Bodrum peninsular is situated on the Flamingo Country Club resort between the Aegean Sea on one side and Lake Tuzla on the other. The lake is often frequented by the delightful birds which lend their name to the resort and when they are in residence the water appears to turn pink.
Melissa 24 is an excellent sized upstairs apartment offering spacious, fully air-conditioned accommodation spread across an integrated living and dining area, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a well equipped kitchen.
The Flamingo resort has its own restaurant and clubhouse and there is a large pool for everyone to enjoy. Each block of apartments also has it's own pool. A short walk away is the stunning Infinity pool with fantastic views over the Aegean.
A supermarket, recently opened close to the entrance to Flamingo, stocks all your self catering needs but there are also some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance and also in nearby villages. To experience the Turkish way of life, visit one of the many local markets or take one of the famous dolmuses on a trip around the peninsula. Excursions further afield can also be booked locally.
This apartment can be rented individually or together with the ground floor apartment, Melissa 23 (Home 74275), which I also own. I can also arrange airport transfers to and from the apartment.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Aegean town and yachting port of Bodrum is one of Turkey's longest established resorts. It boasts world-class facilities including its own airport, and a wealth of history, most notably the Mausoleum of Halicarnassos, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The main resort itself has long been a favourite holiday destination of the Turkish elite and as such, there is a vibrant nightlife scene. Halikarnas is the largest open air nightclub in Europe
The close-by resort of Gümbet is also famed for its discos and bars. In contrast, the Bodrum peninsula offers a calmer alternative: a shore line characterised by charming fishing villages with whitewashed houses, crystal clear water and a welcoming breeze.
**Climate and Weather in the Bodrum peninsula**
The holiday season lasts from early spring until late autumn when the temperature range is from 20 to mid 30 degrees, summer being the most popular time. The mild winter make it an ideal place for hikers and those wishing to visit the ancient sites away from the heat of the summer.
**Tuzla Lake / Flamingo Country Club**
Flamingo Country Club is a stunning new development situated on Tuzla Lake, just 15 minutes from the newly extended Milas-Bodrum Airport which now has links to all major European Airports, 25 minutes from Bodrum Town and close to historical Bogazici, a small fishing village on the shores of Mandalya Bay.
This is a privileged location in many ways. Set on green slopes that rise to a crest of land with Tuzla Lake on one side and the Aegean Sea on the other, the site looks out over the lake and the mountainside beyond.
In October, the lake is awash with colour as flamingoes and pelicans as well as many other rare birds flock here to rest and enjoy the late summer weather. On the north side of the peninsula, you can enjoy fabulous vistas of sea and land and to the west, stunning sunsets.
Just 5 minutes drive away is the impressive new Vita Park Golf Resort, comprising of two world class golf courses, the Milas, a par 71 course with a Scottish Links feel and the Arizona styled Halikarnas, a par 70 course which takes in the contours of the hills around the lakeside. Vita Park also has its own driving range, pro-shop, clubhouse and restaurant. The “pay & play” Milas course is open to non-members so make sure that you bring your golf clubs on your next visit!
** Bodrum town **
Bodrum is one of Turkey's most popular and cosmopolitan resorts. Renowned for its vibrant night-life, Bodrum is home to Europe's largest outdoor nightclub 'Halikarnas'. Bodrum also boasts excellent restaurants serving fresh seafood and other Aegean specialities, a great museum and various local markets selling food and clothing, which run throughout the week.
The heart of the town is around the harbour and marina, where shops, bars and restaurants jostle together under the shadow of the Castle of St. Peter. Leather goods of all kinds, natural sponges and the local blue glass beads (the Boncuk) are among the bargains to be found in the friendly little shops along the narrow, white-walled streets. Charming boutiques offer kilims, carpets, sandals and embroidery as well as original fashions.
Bodrum, known in ancient times as Halicarnassus, was the birthplace of Heredotus and the site of King Mausolus' Tomb, the Mausoleum (4th century B.C.), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In the harbour, Bodrum Castle, or the medieval Castle of St. Peter, is a fine example of 15th-century crusader architecture, and has been converted into the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, with remains dating as far back as the Bronze Age.
There are daily ferries to the Greek island of Kos in summer, and a weekly hydrofoil to Rhodes between May and September. Bodrum is also the South Aegean's prettiest resort for scuba diving; it has several dive centres that rent out equipment, arrange excursions and even provide diving lessons for the inexperienced individual, eager to try out this underwater sport.

I stayed in Melissa24 with my mum, sister and 3 year old nephew for a week at the end of June and it was ideal for all 3 generations. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was very clean on arrival. Flamingo Country Park had several pools around the complex. Our nearest one was a minute away and most of the time we had it to ourselves. The whole area gardens and all surrounding areas was kept immaculate by the gardeners and all the maintenance people. The shuttle bus worked very well, running between all three complexes at all times. We used the beach at Royal Heights and this was great. The dolmus stop is just at the entrance to the complex so you can get around to the nearby areas very easily. The supermarket is about 5 minutes walk and is very well stocked and priced, you can get everything you need. All in all it was a great holiday.
