Scopello Villa delle rose
About the home
Villa delle rose is located on the outskirts of the pittoresque village of Scopello, ca 250 m from the sea and the pebble beach of Mazzo di Sciacca. Quiet and peaceful with an extensive private garden to relax and take in the dramatic and beatiful scenery of the Sicilian countryside offering far reaching views of the Gulf of Castellammare.
The villa benefits from a large veranda overlooking the sea with tables and chairs allowing you to dine al fresco or just relax in the shadow of a carub tree on a hot summer's day. If you worship the sun there is a also a rooftop solarium available.
The villa is ideal for families ( a walled garden and secure gates makes it a good choice for small children) or groups of friends providing an ideal base for excursions in the area.
The little village of Scopello with supermarket and restaurants is only a few minutes away and so is the Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve. The town of Castellammare can be reached within 15 minutes and the historical sites of Erice, Segesta, Selinunte and San Vito Lo Capo are all within easy reach.

Enquire nowThe Sicily region
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean sea offering a rich and unique culture experience, the most intense blue skies, clear warm waters and more than 2500 hours of sunshine a year !
In short the island is a land of extremes and contrasts; Sicily has been invaded by the Elemi, Phoenician, Carthaginian, Greeks, Arabs and Normans, all making a mark on its history, arhcitecture, music, literature, arts and language.
The western part of Sicily is a rustic experience, the landscape is dramatic; the rocky coastline with the most wonderful crystal clear waters is framed by hills and mountains covered in olive groves, lemon trees and wineyards.
Must-places to see include Segesta, Selinunte, Trapani, Erice, San Vito Lo Capo, Castellammare del Golfo and one of Sicily’s finest nature reserves, the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro all within easy reach from the villa by car.
Sicily is also famous for its culinary delights and there is no doubt that the food and wine is one of Sicily's main attractions. It's complex history has also left an evident mark on its food, a wonderful mix of greek, arab, spanish, roman and norman ingredients and dishes. The food is almost always locally produced and incredibly fresh and tasty.
Sicily was voted the best destination in the world in 2009 and second best island in 2010 by readers of Condé Nast Traveller...
The Trapani / Scopello area
Scopello is a tiny village on the coast between the fishing and resort town of Castellammare del Golfo and the Zingaro nature reserve. Scopello consists of a historic 'Baglio' with restaurants and small shops surrounded by narrow lanes. The village perches on a hillside above the Tonnara di Scopello, offering a panoramic view of the rocky coastline and green hillsides. Early summer and spring the hillsides are covered in red, blue and yellow flowers.
A short walk down the hill is the Tonnara di Scopello, an old tuna fishery, on the shore of the coast and crystal clear waters.
A few minutes drive from Scopello lies also Riservo Naturale dello Zingaro which stretches along 7 km of unspoilt coastline. The area has also a rich archaeological past, as in the spectacular Uzzo Grotto there was one of the first prehistoric settlements in Sicily.
