The Andalucia region
Long a favourite destination, the Costa del Sol offers clean beaches and unbeatable sunshine. Torremolinos attracts a younger crowd, with sweeping beaches, shopping centres and thriving discos. There are plenty of watersports on offer, and pedal-boats for the family to enjoy. Fuengirola is more family-friendly.
Nerja boasts quieter coves within walking distance of its busier beaches. Malaga offers more relaxed attractions such as Picasso’s birthplace and some of the best fish and seafood restaurants in the region, it also has a lively nightlife.
Away from the coast lie the prehistoric dolmen caves at Antequera and the magnificent limestone gorge near El Chorro.... The town’s main attraction is the Cuevas de Nerja, a series of caverns which contain the world’s largest stalactite.
Torre del Mar
Torre del Mar has a lot of atmosphere and local flavour with numerous shops, restaurants (including some very good fish and seadfood restaurants) and bars. A 500 metre seafront stretch, called El Copo, is a continual line of bars and discotheques which are open until 6.00h every morning in the summer and at weekends during the winter. Along an adjoining stretch of the seafront there is a summer night market open until 3.00h every morning.

"A perfect holiday in a perfect villa"
We spent a week here with our family of 15 and it was the best holiday we have ever had. We organised it to celebrate our golden wedding and we certainly did that!

"Spacious Villa in a quiet elevated location with wonderful views"
We are a four family group of eight adults and six kids. We have stayed in many villas and without doubt this was the best. The journey from the airport to villa is very easy. Su, the owner met us at the villa and showed everyone around the bedrooms that we had pre-arranged with her so everyone knew exactly where they were sleeping. The villa and grounds are immaculate and are so spacious and so well designed that no-one ever felt crowded and it was always easy to find some quiet space. The main villa is elevated with open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen plus two bedrooms with en suite. On the same floor is the very large outside dining area and table in a covered area with lighting for outside evening dining. A large BBQ is adjacent. Upstairs is a main bedroom with en suite and one level higher in a linked "turret room"is another bedroom which would be suitable for a family. On the main level there is a large paved area with a table tennis table and chairs for sunbathing. The sloping path from the main villa leads to the large pool/gardens and another four bedrooms with en suites. These are designed in two pairs of bedrooms for mums/dads and kids, each pair of bedrooms has its own outside door. All the bedrooms have new air con units. The weather when we were there was red hot with temperatures in the high 80's. Inside the villa it never felt stiffling hot due to the breeze in the elevated position and use of cool tiles. Most people only had to use the air con for perhaps an hour or so before bed, and usually switched it off once the room had cooled before going to sleep. The large games room next to the pool area was ideal for the kids. It contained an Xbox, pool table, fridge etc with lots of seating and the kids decided it was their den and they were going to be cafe owners and used it to serve drinks to the adults - Now thats got to be a first - kids looking after adults ! The villa is located about 5 mins drive from Torre Del Mar. This is a medium size town with supermarkets, shops, restaurants and a very long promenade etc. It is very Spanish, and English is not widely used, however it was part of the fun and no-one had any problems making themselves understood in shops/restaurants etc. and it was nice to get away from the "cheap and cheerful british breakfast syndrome and kareoke bars " that you often get in other parts of Spain. Just outside the town there is a large ultra modern shopping arcade for anyone getting shoping withdrawal symptoms. We enjoyed the villa so much we spent a lot of time chilling there, but there is a lot to do in the area and we did drive to the lakes/mountains which were spectacular, went on a river walk, visited caves, water park and drove down the coast to see how the jet set live around Marbella etc

"Heaven on Earth"
Just returned from our wonderful holiday at Villa Espana Escape. This piece of heaven in the real Spain is a wonderful find. Having stayed there in a party of 14 with an age range of 14-57 I can't recommend it enough. Su and her family are on hand to look after you from the first moment, but also give you enough privacy to enjoy yourself and a chance to relax. The Villa is remote enough to ensure a private, relaxing stay but close enough to Torre del Mar to make shopping, eating out and exploration easy. The villa provides everything you need from space to unwind, panoramic views to die for and enough convenient fridges to ensure that a cold beer is always at hand! Nearby highlights include a modern shopping centre, excellent golf course and a 'real' Spanish haven in the town of Torre, that still reminds me of the Spain of old, complete with beach, promenade, bars, wonderful fish restaurants, weekly market and the laid back atmosphere that first attracted us all to these Costas. It is still a secret so don't tell everyone eh!
