Northern England region
Scarborough is only an hour from the historic town of York and is a great base from which to visit the quaint fishing port of Whitby and other attractive coastal villages and towns like Robin Hoods Bay, Filey and Bridlington. The town is on the fringe of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park with many beautiful walks within easy reach.
SCARBOROUGH is rightly called 'QUEEN OF THE YORKSHIRE COAST' and was Britain's first ever seaside resort. Overlooking the North and South bays with their sandy beaches stands Scarborough's historic castle. The town is home to the Stephen Joseph Theatre where Alan Ayckbourn premieres all his plays

"Perfect house for large group of friends"
A beautiful house in a convenient location in Scarborough. Our party of friends had a very enjoyable long weekend in this tastefully furnished and comfortable house. Would recommend and will return. Owner very helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at King's House for New Year 2013. There were 11 of us staying at the house for a week and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The House is beautiful (wish I lived there!) and full of all the bells and whistles that make a holiday feel like you never left your home.
We will definitely recommend King's House to friends and will be back if we ever stop in Scarborough again.
The owner (Anne) was also excellent with communication and sorting car park passes, keys, etc

"Superb house, everything you need & great seaside location"
Fantastic house, great for family get togethers. The rooms are all immaculate & beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked & enabled us to enjoy self catering for a large group to it's best! Great location with easy access to the beaches - the children particularly enjoyed the slopes & hills on their scooters, (if you struggle with steep climbs maybe make sure the cliff top lift is in operation!) We had a short stay but had a fabulous time exploring the beaches & the town and would thoroughly recommend a visit. Thank you Anne.

"A great house for a family group in an excellent location"
This is a great house for a large group. Plenty of space to all be together with the large kitchen and living room, but also lots of additional rooms so you are not always on top of one another. Bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and the house is all done to a high standard. The kids loved the snug and wooden train track for them to play with. I was a bit concerned about the house being on 4 levels with young children, but they had no problems with the stairs (ages 1, 2 and 4). It was lovely to be able to easily walk along the beach and to the harbour from the house - there are some quite steep steps and slopes to negotiate on the route - a good workout with pushchairs!
There are plenty of places to get food and also nearby supermarkets. we had lovely fish and chips on the seafront from Winking Willie's and fantastic ice creams at the Harbour Bar. Pizzas delivered to the house from Ali Baba's were good too.
We had as many parking permits as we needed (4) to park on the road outside. It was quite busy and we couldn't park right outside the house, but further down the same street so this was fine.

"Perfect family retreat"
Beautiful and very tasteful accommodation perfectly located in the wonderful resort of Scarborough. Space aplenty, immaculately clean and really well appointed. It really does have everything one would possibly want, expect and need. We had a party of 7 adults and 4 kids everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the space and facilities on offer could easily accommodate more in equal comfort. The views out from the front are excellent and proximity to shops mini-super markets and most importantly the beach are great, although the walk back is steep but too onerous. This really is a first class location and accommodation. Owner is also extremely pleasant, helpful and super organised - you won't be disappointed.

"Elegant, luxuriously appointed family holiday home, ideally situated for Scarborough amenities"
An extended family of 5 adults and 4 children, aged between 10 and 7, we stayed at King's House for October half term week and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The house is large, basement plus another 3 floors, located close to South Esplanade within walking distance for Scarborough's main attractions. Decor is delightful, beds excellent and the house has been thoughtfully equipped to provide everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Parking permits were provided for 3 cars and it was usually possible to find spaces close to the property. We had great days out to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Bridlington Rock Factory and Filey as well as exploring all the attractions of Scarborough. The castle is a must! Would highly recommend for a family holiday. One of the best properties we have rented.
