About the home

The studio is in a small house in a quiet neighbourhood, at most 15 walking minutes from the historical center. Bus 27 or 8 , 3-4 walking minutes away, takes you to the center and to the airport. Bus 27 also to te train station. 2 to 8 walking minutes away there are many restaurants, close by also a bakery and 7-8 walking minutes away a supermarket.

The studio has been completely renovated and newly furnished. It consists of a living room with a sofa that opens into a double bed, a wardrobe, SAT TV, DVD, radio, CD, desk and chair, table and balcony. A large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, coffee maker, toaster, table and 4 chairs, wardrobe and an additional sofa which opens into a 120cm. wide bed. Bathroom with shower and WC, hairdryer.

The apartment has a private parking place and WLan. A washing room with a washing machine and tumble drier belongs to the 3 apartments. In the back there is a small garden with a hut for bicycles.

30% of rental fee due when making your reservation , to secure booking.

Cancellation policy:
Down payment will be returned if cancellation is made more than 4 weeks before due arrival.
Between 1 and 4 weeks before arrival, it will only be refunded if the apartment is booked by someone else for this time.

If the apartment is cancelled less than one week before due arrival, 80% of the rent must be paid, unless somebody else books the apartment for the same time.

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland region

Salzburg offers many highlights all year around. Besides the beautiful historical centre with the fortress Hohensalzburg, Mozart's birthblace and houser, the picturesque narrow streets of the old town, churches, museums, galleries, the palace of Hellbrunn and Mirabell, there are the famous festivals, attracting tourist from all the world. The Salzburger Festspiele In july and August, with concerts. operas, theater plays, The Osterfestspiele at Eastern time and the Pfingstfestspiele in May.

There are many beautiful places in the vicinity of Salzburg which you can either visit with an organised tour or on your own , by renting a car, as the ice caves of Werfen, the salines of Hallein, the lake region Salzkammergut , the palace of Fuschl (where the movie " the Sound of music "was made), the königssee in Berchtesgaden, the historical town of Hallstadt etc. you can also go up by cable car on the Untersberg , during winter also a skying resort, from which you have a beautiful view on the city of Salzburg.
I recommend that you get a Salzburg card for 3 days, where all the entrance fees to te interesting sightsseeing places, the city busses and the cable car up the Untersberg are included.

The Salzburg / Max Glan area

The apartment is located in Ganshofstrasse 18, in the part of the city called Max Glan, 10- 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of the historical old town

During summer, besides sightseeing or visiting concerts, theaters, museums you can also go swimming in one of the nearby lakes or the swimming pool in Leopoldskron which is not far. You can go hiking in the mountains in the surroundings of Salzburg, bike riding, play tennis at Tennis Point or just relax in one of the many caffes downtown enjoying the delicious Austrian cakes ,

By plane: there are cheap flights with Ryan Air directly to Salzburg
By car: Coming form the freeway A 10
EXIT Salzburg Airport, go ahead to the first traffic light, then turn left to the Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse. At the end of Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse turn right to Maxglaner Hauptstrasse.
After having passed a small bridge, turn immediately left to Straubingerstrasse. At the end of Straubingerstrasse turn left to Ganshofstrasse. It's the second house on the left side, a light green house.

“Excellent accommodation almost in center of Salzburg” Apartments Ruth have three different apartments in the same building situated very near the old town of Salzburg. We stayed in the smallest of them which is the studio in the ground floor. The terrace of this apartment makes it more. There is also a separate kitchen which gives more space to it. It is fully equipped and we did not miss a thing from there. Short walking to a bakery and a supermarket nearby. Parking and Internet are also included and tghe neighbourhood is really quiet and welcoming. We will come again! Response: Dear guests Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. “HOME 2 HOME” Excellant host,location,design,cleanliness. Salzburg airport so near,also walk into old town or plenty of nearby buses. Local shops with organic selection available at an excellant price. Good pizza just down the road,quiet local area,people friendly. Would very much recommend. “Quiet, adequate, a bit far out of town” We (Canadian couple, early 60s) rented the studio apartment at Ganshofstrasse 18, and it is indeed a very nice quiet area, although a bit more than 15 minutes walk to the centre – at least 20 -25... more Response: Dear guests I am so sorry that it took you so long to walk into the city and that you did not find a map in the apartment showing the way, which my cleaning lady usually leaves for the guests. “clean - warm - calm” Sometimes I have to spend a weekend in Salzburg for business. In this case I always try to rent this Ruth-Apartment, because it offers everything I need: it is clean, warm and calm and, last but not least, not expensive. By th way you can use television and get the code for WLAN. It is located near thr center and offers a parking-place, if you need. For me it is perfect.
