The Tenerife region
The lush green Orotava Valley is a beautiful valley filled with gullies and cliffs located in the northern part of the Canary island of Tenerife, in Spain. The valley is 10 by 11 km. It includes the municipalities of Los Realejos, Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava. It is also a park area.
Tenerife has probably the best climate in the world. The north of the island enjoys a constant mild subtropical temperature that the locals describe as Eternal Spring.
Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz is Tenerife´s first tourist town dating back to the 19th Century when the first British tourists visited the island.Nowadays Puerto de la Cruz is a charming town where tourism is integrated into the Spanish way of life.
There are many places to visit and excellent restaurants. Loro parque is a must. The Botanical gardens, the Abaco Mansion, the old customs house and fishing village with its many restaurants.The old part of La Orotava is worth a visit and the drive up to Mount Teide is spectacular.
