From the owner

La Grange is the perfect place for relaxed family holidays away from the madding crowds but readily accessible to beautiful mediaeval towns and villages, caves, castles, kayaks and restaurants. The enchanting farmhouse dates from the 18th century with metre thick walls of honey coloured stone, massive ceiling timbers, polished chestnut floors, oriental rugs and fine furnishing to create a comfortable home from home full of character and charm. It is set in a small hamlet with 2 acres of secluded grounds, outbuildings and pool. There are beautiful views over small fields and woods to the hills beyond. The large kitchen is equipped with all modern ammenities. Two large tables provide flexibilty for indoor dining, starting the day with fresh baguettes and croissants from the local bakery. A large terrace with table and chairs for 10 is the ideal setting for alfresco meals, barbecues, sipping evening glasses of wine and relaxing after exploring the beauties of the area. For night-time comfort, there are 2 double and one twin bedroom each with ensuite bathroom, a further twin and a single room with a shared bathroom.

The countryside of the Lot/Dordogne border has everything you could want. Enjoy wine tasting and great food amongst the vinyards along the River Lot. Kayak or canoe along the Dordogne. Visit the breathtaking sites of Rocamadour and Domme. Feast your eyes at the weekly market in Souillac. Explore the Caves at Padirac by boat on an underground river or take a trip back in time to the prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux and Pech Merle. Marvel at the topiary in the gardens at Marquessac and Eyrignac. Travel on the restored narrow guage railway at Martel. Visit the local Chateau Fenalon which is georgeous! Eat at the local retaurants. There are endless things to do, but if you just want to relax, lie by the pool or stroll though the local tracks or along the stream.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Brian (the owner) a message.

If Brian (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
