BookThe Ionian Islands region
Seven miles long by three miles wide, Paxos nestles like a green jewel in the Ionian Sea. The island landscape is covered by some 200,000 olive trees, bought to Paxos (as they were to Corfu) by the Venetians.
In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet, that is what a holiday on Paxos offers today, no loud discos, no clubs, just a peaceful sunny place where you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
The Paxos / Loggos area
Paxos has a way of life which is reminiscent of that described by Gerald Durrell in his books about Corfu in the 1930s. small goat and donkey tracks crisscross the island and In the olive season it is still possible to meet a little Greek lady carrying a sack of olives, which she has gathered by hand.
Villa Thea is situated amongst the olive groves in the quiet hamlet of Kangatika, one kilometre from the enchanting, graceful, old fishing port of Loggos with pastel-shaded old houses huddled around the harbour. It combines relative seclusion with the bustle of small village life nearby, providing an idyllic place for holidays throughout the season.
During the day, you could stroll through the olives covered in spring and early summer with wild flowers, or along the narrow lanes lined with dry stone walls past old houses and brightly planted gardens or hire one of the brightly coloured boats in Loggos harbour which offer a chance to explore the bays and beaches of the coast, to swim in the clean crystalline waters.
In the evening, the last of the sun casting lengthening shadows under the olives. Go down the hill to Loggos to gather with the locals in the tavernas or in the Roxie Bar overlooking the little harbour to enjoy a meal or a drink. Then either stroll back under a canopy of a myriad stars, the moon making a silver path over the sea or order a taxi back "home" to sit on the terrace, drink in hand, enjoying the quiet of the night.

Transfer Information:
We can arrange a 'Meet & Greet' service on Paxos (subject to payment of your travel costs to the individual carriers on boarding). This service is particularly useful on a 'harder to reach' island such as Paxos, as it relieves you of all worries about reaching and returning from your destination once in Greece - especially useful in the peak summer months, when local transport can be busy and fully booked.
Please ask for details of this service when you are booking. Regular visitors to Paxos will be aware that it is not unusual for ferries and hydrofoils to be cancelled due to bad weather, particularly in early and late season. Local operators provide sea transfers between Corfu and Paxos, often using the sea taxi service. You can of course book the sea taxi yourself but it is expensive for families and couples travelling alone. We are also in a better position to look after you in the event of any occasional disruption.
We keep in touch with our guests by mobile during their journey so that we can assist with any problems, eg. delayed flights, which may arise.

Paxos is an unspoilt corner of Greece and Loggos together with the Villa Thea, really did live up to our expectations. The Villa was wonderfully presented, had everything you could want, and we made good use of the pool & terrace overlooking the sea from first thing in the morning till early evening. Loggos is pretty little Greek fishing village with wonderful beaches close by and a selection of good quality taverna's offering simple high quality greek food, we were spoilt for choice. The owners were always available via text answering any queries and very helpful ordering transfers to and from Corfu. It was a real treat staying at Villa Thea and we would definitely recommend it and will be visiting again. Response: Thank you for your review we are so glad that you enjoyed your holiday and would like to come to Paxos again |

Our holiday in Paxos staying at Villa Thea was wonderful. Our group consisted of 4 adults and two children aged 10 and 12. The villa offers really comfortable spacious accommodation and is also well equipped. We had a wonderful week lounging around the pool, hiring boats and heading off to the lovely island of Anti Paxos (20 mins by boat). There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and we walked down the hill from Kangatika to Loggos most evenings, although we always got a taxi back afterwards (bit steep after all that delicious Greek food!) Getting to Paxos was very easy Erica's instructions for getting from Corfu airport to Paxos were absolutely spot on and once on the island Erica's lovely and helpful English speaking contacts for Villa Thea were always on hand to help with any questions and transfers to and from the Villa to the port.. All in all a perfect holiday we shall definitely return to Villa Thea! Response: Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday with us. We aim to offer a comfortable villa and an enjoyable stay for all our guests and look forward to seeing you again in Paxos. |
