About the home

The apartment is located in a quiet area between Paralimni & Protaras - short drive of 10 minutes or so to both downtown areas. It is in a block of just 6 apartments and occupies the penthouse location, so no apartments above. It is well appointed, including two additional comfortable folding beds for kids, and there are shopping facilities nearby.

The apartment is ideally located for both a quiet, relaxing holiday, with the option of an excellent nightlife just 10 minutes away by car. Protaras is a prime holiday location in Cyprus, with a range of dining and entertainment offerings. It caters particularly, though not exclusively, for a British tourist clientele.

The apartment is virtually new, completed early 2009. It has remained unoccupied for much of the period since then. It has a "brand new" look and feel. Furniture is of high quality - with a leather lounge seat, as well as IKEA furnishings. There is plenty of space inside, 63 sqm, and the apartment has relatively high ceilings. The bathroom is appointed with top-class faucets and a pump installed adds water pressure - which can be a problem otherwise in Cyprus. Of course, all necessary cutlery, etc. is included.

Further details outdoors:
The outstanding thing about the apartment is the large balcony, 30 sqm, giving plenty of space for comfortable seating and walking. The sea view from there is quite amazing, and an evening drink there (there is a table with four chairs in the balcony as well) is quite an experience. The balcony is wooden banistered and high enough to be kidsafe. And the surrounding view is not crowded with apartment blocks, etc.

The Famagusta region

This is a more calm resort compared to Ayia Napa even though it is only 10 minutes away by car. Protaras is situated between Cape Greco and the village of Paralimni and boasts the fabulous Fig Tree Bay, which stretches over 10 miles of Sandy Beach.

While lying on the beach you will have the opportunity to decide which of Protaras many restaurants you will try that evening.

Protaras is the place to try freshly grilled fish in one of the open-air seafood restaurants or take a pick from the several types including Thai, Italian, Indian and many others.

Protaras also offers a good choice of shops, taverns, nightclubs and bars.

The Paralimni area

Protaras is one of the three towns in the district of Ammochostos (Famagusta). This small town has enchantment and is well known for some of the most beautiful beaches with golden sand and sparkling turquoise clear waters. Prophet Elias in Protaras which is on a hill 100 metres high has a panoramic view of the entire town and the sea which stunts you. Climb the 300 steps up the hill and view this breathless sight and visit the tiny church of Prophet Elias.

In the towns near Protaras, Ayia Napa and Paralimni there are many monasteries to visit. Especially the Ayia Napa Monastery which was built like a medieval castle, and the village which sprang up arount it, took its name from the ancient Greek word "Napa" which means "wooded valley". This monastery was built around 1500 A.D.

Cavo Greco - A National Forest Park at the south-eastern end of the island in Protaras. This unique area has its natural beauty but also offers a wide range of interests such as cycling, riding, climbing, air sports, and hiking. There are about 300 plant species in the area. Also observed in the area are foxes, hares and various species of bats, reptiles and butterflies. To date, 9 trails have been constructed in Cavo Greco - Paralimni area.
