The Sicily region
We are in the middle of the baroque area where Noto ,heritage of the humanity, is situated.
Noto is 32 miles from Syracuse and is located in the southwest of the province at the foot of the Iblei mountains. Its coast, between Avola and Pachino, gives its name to the gulf. With its area the town of Noto employs over one quarter of the Province of Syracuse and is the largest town in Sicily and Italy in the quarter. In its territory flow two rivers: the Tellaro, where a Roman villa was found, called Villa del Tellaro precisely, and Asinaro, at the mouth of which, in the district Calabernardo, took place the famous battle between the Athenians and Syracusans
All around are cities that are treasures of the Baroque: Modica, Ragusa, Scicli.
The festival of the procession of the patron of Noto, San Corrado is the 28th August.
The astonishing area of small emerald lakes of Cava Grande, where you can swim .
The river area of Valle Dell'Anapo with fish and fresh water crabs.
The beaches of Portopalo and Isola della Correnti.

"Peaceful and relaxing retreat!"
We stayed at Casa Vaddeddi for a week and we just loved the villa and the surrounding countryside! Set in the middle of a peaceful countryside of almond and olive trees, the villa is designed and decorated with taste and elegance. We struggled a little bit to find the place but once reached we enjoyed the very quiet and relaxing landscape and the comfort of the villa. The bedding provided was superb, as well as the cot for our kid, and the villa is decently equipped (without any TV or radio in line with the mood of the landscape). The villa has also a tiny swimming pool but with a very cold water; however the beaches nearby do not regret the conditions of the pool. However the beauty of the villa represents also its downside. Its wonderful location, in fact, makes that it’s absolutely essential a car to reach the beaches, a village or even a supermarket (10/15 min circa). Other than that, we strongly suggest a stay at Casa Vaddeddi.

"Elegant and comfortable villa in a peaceful setting with lovely views."
Casa Vaddeddi is a beautifully designed cottage, in a peaceful setting surrounded by almond and olive trees. It is slightly elevated so benefits from a lovely sea breeze nearly all of the time, keeping the house fresh even on hot days. There are views to the coast and inland over the hills and plentiful places to sit and take in the scenery, including terraces on the ground and first floors. The cottage is very well equipped and has air conditioning both upstairs and downstairs, which we found useful on hot nights. The staircase is fairly steep so not suitable for very small children (ours are 6 and 8). The small swimming pool was excellent for the children and good for cooling off. The owners were staying in their second cottage, further up the lane, during our holiday and were very friendly and helpful. Casa Vaddeddi is about 15 minutes from Noto, which is a beautiful town, and just 10 minutes from a peaceful beach in the Vendicari Nature Reserve. There are many other beaches nearby. Etna is an hour and a half away; Siracusa is 45 minutes away and there are lots of possibilities for day trips either along the coast or inland to other Baroque towns, such as Ragusa and Modica. The house is an easy motorway journey from Catania airport (an hour and a quarter). We had a great holiday and would wholeheartedly recommend Casa Vaddeddi.
