Rivendell Lodge at Well Farm Cottages on the Devon / Cornwall border near Bude.
Rivendell is our brand new glamping microlodge with private en-suite facilities. Some call it a “hobbit house” – it certainly has huge charm and character. If you love the idea of a holiday with a difference, a touch of adventure and romance, then Rivendell is for you. Forget previous experiences of camping, at Rivendell you will enjoy many home comforts in a warm and cosy space, perfect for single travellers, couples or families of four. From the comfort of the microlodge, you step outside to enjoy the great outdoors at first hand, perhaps strolling down to the river to enjoy some fishing. Tucked neatly into the old orchard on the farm, you will have a great deal of privacy whilst enjoying your holiday in the microlodge. Rivendell has double doors to the front, opening out onto a large decked area with glorious country views across the Tamar Valley to Devon. Enjoy meals on our all-weather dining table with reclining chairs, or relax further on one of recliners. We have no light pollution and we're sure you'll love sitting on the deck in the evenings, gazing at the night sky.
We know how important kitchen and bathroom facilities are when you are on holiday. With that in mind, you will have your own adjacent bathroom lodge with a flushable toilet, hot shower and full sized wash basin. We have also provided a wash-up / food preparation area to the rear.
Cooking meals can be done al-fresco on our gas powered barbeque with hob – perfect for Cornish breakfasts of locally sourced produce available in the village shop at Whitstone, or from Waitrose in Holsworthy. Inside the microlodge we have provided you with a kettle – essential for your early morning cuppa (no waiting for a camp fire!) There is also a microwave to make things quick and easy. So that you don't have to fill up your car with the basics, we have provided saucepans, a non-stick frying pan, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
Our microlodge was beautifully constructed with quality materials by Steve, Gary and Blaze from Microlodge in Scotland. The microlodge is insulated with a 4” air gap inside a watertight shell. It is quite spacious at 4.8 metres long, 2.4 metres wide and 2.6 metres high.
Accommodation - Sleeps 4
Across the rear of the microlodge is a double bed with under-bed storage area. In the central area, either side of the middle corridor, are two single beds. To the front of the microlodge are shelved areas with the TV and DVD player to one side and a microwave, kettle and fridge with freezer box to the other side. The microlodge has double doors to the front and a ventilation window to the rear.
Alongside the microlodge sits the facilities lodge for your own private use whilst staying. The spacious facilities lodge is fitted with a flushable toilet, wash basin and hot shower. Along the rear of the facilities lodge is a commercial sink for food preparation and washing up.

"Best glamping holiday"
Fantastic little glamping pods, kitted out extremely well, and very comfortable.
Bathroom pod is excellent -such a luxury to have your own toilet and hot shower!
Enjoyed using the sun loungers and the BBQ too. It was so helpful to have cooking utensils and all cutlery etc provided so we didn't have to bring stuff from home.
And what a luxury to have kettle/microwave/fridge and even a TV too!
We went just the two of us and used the single beds as sofas, but it would be great for a family with 2 kids too, and not too expensive either.
The owner's parents came to say hi when we arrived and were really helpful pointing us to the nearest supermarket and the best pubs in the area, and the owner popped by on our last day to check we'd had a good stay. -Can't fault the service!
We had a great holiday! -It was the perfect balance of adventure without forgoing comfort!
Lots to see & do in the area too!
We're really glad you enjoyed your stay at Rivendell. We agree that an en-suite makes a glamping break extra enjoyable!

"Well-equipped, beautiful glamping pods"
We had a great stay here - service was great, and the view was lovely. Had minor issues with access, as they'd been digging up the main road - but obviously not the fault of the owners, and we were sent warning! Heaters were provided, and the pods warmed up really quickly. And we really enjoyed our BBQ breakfast!
We're very glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, it was annoying that the road was being dug up and pot holes repaired, but thankfully the road in is now open again and pothole free! We hope you come and stay again soon.
