The Andalucia region
The Costa Del Sol and Malaga are popular places for holiday makers all year round. This mainly due to the warm climate and the fact that there is plenty to see and do. There are many golf courses on the Costa Del Sol and the nearest to Nerja is Bavaria Golf.
You will also find many waterparks, themeparks, zoos and watersports all around the area. This makes it a perfect place for adults and children alike.
Nerjas most famous attraction is the caves. They are well worth a visit and throughout the year concerts and fetivals can be seen here.
The name Nerja comes from the moorish word for the village “Narixa” which means abundance of water, but not through rain!
Nerja has 300 days of sunshine which makes it a great all year round destination. Nerja is still nearer to the real Spain, and just a few minutes walk from the Town centre and you can still occassionally see Oxen pulling a plough, and just a few more minutes drive away is some of the most magnificent scenery to be seen anywhere. Although Nerja has succumbed to tourism it has managed to keep a lot of it’s character, particularly the old part of town with narrow (some still cobbled) streets and loads of great Tapas Bars. Nerja is less than two hours drive from the Sierra Nevada (Europe’s most Southerly Ski resort) so you can be on the beach for the morning, and skiing in the afternoon!
Nerja town is a five minute drive or 20 minute walk along the beach with stunning mountain views. Just outside Nerja in nearby Maro is the Cuevas de Nerja with it's amazing limestone formations.
Buses, from the hotel opposite, run approximately every 20 minutes and taxi's into town are inexpensive if you do not want to hire a car, transfers to and from the airport can be arranged if required.
Punta Lara is a quiet, residential typically Spanish urbanisation situated 2 km to the west of Nerja town. There are five bar/restaurants on the urbanisation who all serve fresh local produce.
There are also several Spanish owned bar/restaurants along the beach where you can sample paella and tapas. As well as the local beaches there are many unspoilt coves along the coast. Burriana Beach is worth a look especially if you have children.
Nerja town has something for all ages, quiet resaurants, lively bars with traditional flamenco and Trutti Frutti Plaza if you want to dance the night away.
There are many fiestas throughout the year when the locals really go to town with spectacular floats and firework displays.
There are several inland villages worth exploring. Frigiliana is 3 km, a stunning whitewashed villiage with cobbled streets and cafes.

"Delightful Villa set in quiet urbinization with lovely pool and seaview"
This lovely little villa, set in a quiet urbanization on the hillside, 5 mins by car to the centre of Nerja, has everything you need for a real relaxing holiday. Very clean, fully equipt and we had the little essentials of milk, tea, bread etc waiting for us on our arrival. There are several places nearby to eat and drink if you dont want to venture far, but make sure you do visit some of the many restuarants in town as there are some good eats to be found. Best time is early evening where shops, tapas bars etc are all open and the little square is bustling. Our best recommendation onsite is the M & T bar, a short steep walk up the hill. Mark and Jamie will make you feel very welcome, as did the residents and other holiday makers while we were there. A nice place to socialise. If you do have any walking/breathing difficulty the steep walks around the urb might cause a problem. Otherwise this little gem is worth a try, shame we had to come home!
I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay at Elena, 10 and that the welcome pack was a nice surprise for you. Glad you had all you needed to make it a relaxing break. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Villa Elena was fantastic. It was perfect for our needs. We were 4 adults and we stayed for 2 weeks in May. The weather was fantastic and it was great having our own pool to cool down in. Although it was a fair walk into Nerja itself, after all the indulgences of eating and drinking - the walk was good exercise. Taxi's cost Euro7 each way, so they weren't too bad. Chris and Lisa met us as we arrived and made us feel very welcome. Nerja is an amazing place, although tourism is becoming more prominent, it's not as bad as places like Malaga. It's more suited to older couples who just want to relax and have a good time. We found the villa comfortable, clean and with every amenity we needed. Would definitely recommend it - we will be coming back one day we hope.
It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay at Elena, 10 and we were delighted we had the opportunity to meet you. I'm glad that the house was all that you expected and you put the pool to good use. Look forward to hearing from you again.

"Beautiful villa ideal for a quiet and relaxing break."
We stayed in the villa for a week in April. It was our 1st time away with our little boy and I'm so glad we came here. villa was extremely clean and well laid out and the terrace and pool were gorgeous. Good location too if you don't mind the walk, we managed with the bus service which we found cheap and reliable. its an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing break. we may have struggled for activities if our 2 older children were with us, but overall we were very happy. The caves in Nerja are a must especially with kids our little boy loved it. some excellent restaurants nearby too. Chris and Lisa are brilliant to ok with and book with our whole trip went get smoothly...no hitches at all.
Really pleased that everything went smoothly and that Elena, 10 was just as you expected. Chris and I hopefully look forward to welcoming you back again.

"lovely quiet accommodation"
I stayed here with my husband young baby and my parents for 10 days in october and was very pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. You do need a car, however, to get to the beaches, shops etc, but would highly recommend to a small family. You could walk but as it was so hot when we were there I wouldnt recommend it! Loved the pool for a swim in the morning....
I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay at Elena, 10 and found it peaceful and relaxing.

First time ever we've not booked a package deal and couldn't have been easier, Lisa very helpful, even arranged our transfers. Villa is like a home from home with a private pool (which the 3 of us were never out of) plenty of room and lovely location for a relaxing break. Definitely will be back.
So glad you enjoyed your holiday, we look forward to welcoming you and your family back again in the future.

"A very pretty and comfortable villa where we enjoyed a relaxing holiday."
The pretty villa is well situated with a lovely sea view. It was comfortable and very relaxing. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of being slightly out of town and managed perfectly well using the local taxi service, for the supermarket and into town to eat out. All communication with the owner was friendly and questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. We would love to stay there again.
I'm delighted you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to welcoming you back.
