Sleeping between 4 and 8 people, this pretty white painted villa has its own terraces and enclosed private lawn garden with shrubs and fruit trees; it is in the small multi-national community of San Juan de Capistrano, on the outskirts of Nerja. The villa is in the perfect location - 2 mins walk from the superb pool complex which is surrounded by lawns and cafes, bars and a shop - so is near enough to get to easily but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.
The villa is ideal for larger groups, or for 2 families, who want to be together. The 2 apartments allow you to be together when you want to be, or separate when you need to be.
Or each apartment can be rented by couples or families for an intimate, relaxing holiday.
The lower apartment is ideal for families with small children: as well as its own patio, it's garden is ideal for babies and youngsters who need some area shaded by the olive tree to play in, or for adults who merely want to read and snooze in the quiet. This apartment also has both a shower and a bath, again ideal for sorting the kids out after a long day.

ACCOMMODATION. There are 2 apartments, one above the other, which can be rented separately (for 4 people) or together (for 8 people).
EACH APARTMENT has its own balcony and independent access to:

San Juan de Capistrano, which is 5 mins by car or 20 min walk from Nerja, has beautiful established gardens and walkways, large supervised communal adult and children's pools (April to end-October) and cozy restaurants.
There is a superb shop near the pool which stocks a wide range of food stuffs inc fresh dairy produce, plus the full range of daily British and other European newspapers and magazines.
The gardens (including our own) are tended by professional gardeners, and the whole area is patrolled by the site's own security staff, so it's very safe and peaceful.
A local bus service operates from the shop every 30-mins into Nerja. This is an excellent way to enjoy the many bars, restaurants and night clubs in town without having to use the car!

The Costa del Sol region
The villa is on the coast of 'sun' and 'light'., which has some of the best beaches in Spain, white painted timeless villages, and spectacular mountains.
The Costa del Sol stretches along just over 150 kms of Málaga province and is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. The area's mild climate is the root attraction that makes it possible to enjoy the beaches and a wide variety of outdoor activities year round.
Our villa is in the Eastern Costa del Sol, which is the 54 km stretch of coast to the east of Malaga city (the capital of Málaga province). Though highly developed from a property point of view, it is not anything like the property development on the western Costa del Sol.
From Malaga eastwards there are cliffs of up to 200 m where the Sierra Almijara joins the sea. This section ends at a place called Maro, on a coastal plain. It has an urban landscape surrounded by traditional agriculture.
Nerja is the most important urban centre on this end of the coast and has grown rapidly. Much of the eastern Costa del Sol's accommodation for tourists is found in Nerja, which is surrounded by tourist pueblos. This town also has one of this area's main tourist attractions - the Nerja Caves, which are described below
The Nerja area
Nerja is a pretty town with narrow streets, a weekly market, excellent restaurants, bars and nightlife. The town marks the eastern tip of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, Nerja now has a population of over 12,000.
It boasts 16 kms of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.
Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, the Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has, fortunately, managed to avoid being blighted by concrete high-rises. The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing...
The heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes here to choose from, and you can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corners of the town. The town's monuments include the 17th century Church of El Salvador, in a style which is a charming mixture of baroque and Moorish, or mudéjar, and the beautiful Gardens of Capistrano Playa, which descend to Burriana Beach.
However, Nerja's most spectacular attraction is undoubtedly its fascinating caves, located just 1 km from our villa. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 years old and other pre-historic remains. One of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.
Nerja cuisine includes several specialities including De La Doncella (red mullet) and pescaito frito (fried fish) and ranging from top international cuisine to the ubiquitous sausage, eggs and chips!
Finally, for those who want to enjoy Nerja's many nightclubs and bars into the early hours, then the Tutti Frutti area in the centre of town is perfect for you!

Fly to Malaga, then 50 minute drive along the motorway to Nerja.
There are many car hire companies operating from Malaga Airport; the one we prefer to use is Record (www.recordrentacar.com), who have an excellent selection of cars at very competitive prices; better yet, their queue is often much shorter than the better known companies!
We can arrange a taxi to take you to our villa, but it often costs the same to hire a car for the week anyway.

Nice location. On a streep hill close to the Mountains. Great Pool 1 minute away with 3 fantatsic British places to eat. One did then best curry Ive had outside an indian restaurant. Accomodation in reasonably good condition. Cooker downstairs a bit old and slow to warm up. I would recommend. Good value for the price too. We hired the whole property for two families and there was plenty of room. Great views from the upstairs balconies.

We've enjoyed all our stays in the upper apartment. The property description accurately describes its features. A peaceful location, away from the bustle of the town, adjacent to a National Park if you want a trek or a hike, but not too far away from the beaches, shops, restaurants and bars of Nerja. Hope to return many times to this excellent accommodation.

Stayed in September, apartment has everything required and has stunning views, is situated ideally on the urbanisation.
Pool is fantastic with plenty of bars and eaterys to choose from,
About 5 minute drive from town centre or a 20 minute walk
Nerja is a wonderful town and I will be visiting again,
