About the home

Bed and Breakfast service : we will treat you like in family.
The villa is situated close to where we produce vast wine in a agricultural estate which is situated in one of the loveliest and most unspoiled areas in central Tuscany.
The owners have decided to rent four beautiful rooms with private bathroom at the second floor of the Villa, and to live in the first floor. In several periods there are children in the house.
At the down floor there is a living room were the guest can stay and read books or listen some music and relax, while watching the beautiful Italian garden that overlooks the room.

Breakfast is served or in the dining room of the Villa or in the italian garden. no cooking area access. we do not serve at the moment other meals.
The four rooms for the guests have a beautiful view of the Italian garden and of the countryside. The house has maintained its beauty and all the rooms have decorated ceilings and walls.

A suggestive panorama from the formal Italian gardens to the drive lined with cypress trees which opens out into a natural terrace overlooking the estate which the villa is part of.
Guests of the villa will use shared swimming pool 7x14 swimming pool with beautiful view on the vinjards Montepulciano and Chianciano.

The villa was built at the request of a noble family from Montepulciano in 1812, the Napoleon period, which is reflected in the architectural and decorative characteristics which are can also be recognised in the gardens and adjacent parkland. The villa, church and old garden are the ideal surrounds for weddings and other celebrations. Our management guidelines also provide for catering services with all the requirements of important occasions.
The area offers many typical Trattorias and restaurants, wine cellars for wine tasting. Possibility of maid service and typical Tuscan dinners for groups of minimum 12-20 people.

You can taste a glass of red of Montepulciano or Chianti of Montepulciano sitting under the stars, while you eat some chease and bruschetta with our oil.

The Tuscany / Siena Province region

Siena, built on three hills and surrounded by well preserved walls, is filled with fine examples of Gothic architecture and has one of the world's most unique piazzas - Piazza del Campo - (shaped like a shell with scalloped edges).

Of course, the world-famous Palio of Siena is an important part of Sienese identity, history and culture.
To fully discover and appreciate all that Siena offers, one should visit the city for more than a just a few days. Siena makes an excellent base for other excursions in Tuscany, as it is not far from charming towns such as San Gimignano, Pienza, and towns world famous for wine, such as Montalcino and Montepulciano.

The Montepulciano area

A Renaissance town, but almost certainly of Etruscan origin, as are most of the towns and villages in the area.
The town dominates the surrounding area from the top of a hill.

Initially a Medieval fortress, subsequently made a free commune in the thirteenth century, Montepulciano is known as the "Pearl of the sixteenth century".

A long main road goes through the town for about 1.5 km from Porta al Prato to the Piazza Grande, where the Duomo and the Palazzo Comunale are located, as well as other famous sixteenth century buildings, including the Avignonesi, cocconi, Contucci, Tarugi and Cervini Palazzos, named after the main families in the area.
The temple of San Biagio, a Renaissance masterpiece designed by Antonio da San Gallo il Vecchio, is particularly interesting.

The barrel race is a very important event in Montepulciano. It is held on the last Sunday of August in honour of the patron saint of Montepulciano (S. Giovanni Decollato) and attracts numerous tourists every year.

The eight different quarters of the town represented must push an 80 kg barrel through the tortuous streets of the town. The first one to reach the piazza Grande, located almost at the highest point of the town, is the winner of the race.

Four kilometres outside Montepulciano, on the road to Chianciano, is the hamlet of S. Albino (called Sant'Albino in Parcia until early last century, after the Parce stream which flows through it).

Situated at the foot of the Maddalena hills, it was already renowned in the past for its 'smelly water', a stream of sulphurous water whose therapeutic properties are the basis of the Montepulciano hot springs, a modern establishment specialised in the treatment of various illnesses: otorhinolaryngology, rehabilitation and also health and beauty treatment and therapy.

TERME: One of the most well-know thermal bath in Italy is situated 15 km from the farmhouse, it is Chianciano Terme, which waters flow from four springs with different mineralization. It is possible to choose among many treatments among which the balneotherapy, inrigations, inhalationsand the application of thermal mud baths. Remember also Bagno Vignoni, located on a table land at an altitute 0f 300 metres, which thermal waters, that flow at 52°, werw already frequented by Caterina da Siena and Lorenzo il Magnifico.

Position of the farmhouse offers many interesting routes to discover. These areas are protected and are populated by pheasants, hares, bucks and many others animals. Some itineraries can be travelled over on food or by bicycle, others by car along white roads that lead to ancient Pieve and medieval towns, as the route from Montepuciano to Monticchiello.

THE WINE AND TASTE ROAD: The wine lovers have at their disposal many itineraries, or there are many trips that can be organized, at the sign of history, good food and nature. A few kilometres away, places like Pienza, Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Siena, Monticchiello can be visited.

High-Way A1From the superhigh-way A1 (Milan-Florence-Rome) exit CHIUSI-CHIANCIANO.
Turn right and follow the indication for CHIUSI.
After 2,5 Km turn left for CHIANCIANO TERME and MONTALLESE-ACQUAVIVA.
After you have covered 6.7 Km you arrive to the small village of MONTALLESE.
You pass the train station of the MONTALLESE and you turn left for CHIANCIANO TERME.
After you have covered 2.5 Km you turn right for VIA DI POGGIO PAGANO (just after red house ANAS).
There is also the sign blue 118 (emergency number).
You go in the dirth road for 2.4 Km until you see at your left the Big house yellow (Villa) and the farmhouse.

“Old-world Italian charm in a beautiful Tuscan setting” It's a job to find it it, but once you do, you'll want to stay longer than you've booked for. The house has been in the family since 1812 - they produce their own wine - and Olimpia is a charming hostess (and speaks good English). Montepulciano is a lovely wine town about 15 mins away.
